Thank you for reacting to V, his real name is Kim Taehyung. He is a baritone but can also sing high notes. He appreciates all kinds of music genres, even music that's not on the mainstream. But his real love is jazz music, he's an old soul. His album "Layover ", is a no-skip album for me, it's different from the music that's being produced today. He did the album with the intention that people who likes music, likes his music. He stayed true to himself, even if he knows that not a lot of young people are into his type of music. Slow Dancing is included in that album. Some people associate singing in high notes is what makes a good singer. For me, it's the ability of the singer to make me feel the emotions of the songs he's singing. And V was able to do that in all of his solo songs. I hope that you can watch his other performances, aside from the Tiny Desk performance his "V Love Me Again Band session is also good, it also has a Slow Dancing Band Session. Tae’s (V) goal with Slow Dancing was to convey his own personality in song form, his laidback, gentle, serene in movement nature and speech and on the slower pace of life personality. He also wanted it and his album Layover to be a calm tranquil moment of peace for ARMY and music lovers, where they could take a moment to breathe and check in with themselves. He’s also a lover of music himself, which is why the instrumentals shine too and are given their own moment. I really loved the MV too which as he said during his interviews, the MV’s represent the images that come to his mind when he listens to the songs. The MV has lots of Easter Eggs. His Dog Yeontan is represented all through out the MV in the hills and many other scenes and a stand-in dog ‘Rocky’ which looked similar to Yeontan was used (as he couldn’t take Yeontan who has health problems to Spain where this MV and (4 other MV’s for his Album Layover were shot in the period of a week and a half.) It’s as if he creates his own Utopia and ideal world. If you look at the Polaroid he took, all the people in them are him. It’s also why the people behave oddly I.e eating the flowers. I’ll end the comment with a transcript of a beautiful speech that he read during a Melon radio episode (Korean music platform) when talking about his Album ‘Layover’ and ‘Slow Dancing’. V is 6 of the the 7 members of BTS that have released a successful solo album so far this past year with Jungkook just releasing his own massive album success this week as he promotes it performing on Jimmy Fallon today and at Rockefeller Center on Today show on Wednesday morning in NYC. Every member of BTS are unique that they can and did very well with solo album releases that related to the genre of music they each as individuals are drawn to as you see here with V who is into a jazzy r&b retro vintage sound that fits his voice, style and music interests. Slow Dancing is among my favourite out of his mini album but if you want to be completely mesmerized, you must watch V's Tiny Desk for the performance and musicianship of his band mates that will leave you floored from the talent of every musician and singers with V as the frontman.

Hello! I think you will like it in Tiny Desk Korea and Band Session. I thought it was sensational. Live, with a band and backing vocals. V also plays some saxophone in Band Session. Have you seem him in Le Jazz De V? I thought he is a true artist. I didn't know him. I became a fan. And if that wasn't this talent wasn't enough, he is too beautiful. Sorry, my english is not good.

He's Tiny Desk Concert was so laid back and a real vibe. Also there's a band practice which is also them just all siting around on big comfy chairs and just when you think they've stopped filming you get V jamming with the Band on Saxophone we all knew he'd played sax but it was great to hear him play. As the baritone of BTS had his love Jazz and R&B's he's always add's that soul smooth tones he also says due to singing as part of BTS his range has increased at the top end which is evident when he hits those top notes in BTS.

I agree with you. I’m tired of ad libs/runs and high notes. To me that’s about the artist and not the song. Artists today over sing their songs because they know that the listener will go gaga over the notes, it really takes away from the lyrics and musical arrangement of a song. I love V’s minimal approach to adding vocal effects, he is a musician’s musician and likes to add instrumentals and using classical instruments to add ambiance. By the way singer Cautious Clay played the flute on this studio version of slow dancing. You guys need to react to V’s tiny desk version of 3 songs from his EP, the band was amazing and he changed up the vocals to add a little, r&b, jazz, gospel flavour.

Thanks for understanding V! This is sooooo V, and also so completely different from BTS. It's a side we always knew was there because he has always been clear about his love of jazz and blues. so I found it a delight. Some fans seemed to find it a step too far away, but I never did: it was/is jusr V being himself! Thank you also for reflecting on the tendency of many modern singers to over-elaborate their vocalisation. I hate (with a passion) when a singer takes a complete classic (even Halleliuiah0 which has a tune of dignified and deep emotion that is full of meaning, and then adds so many trills and oscillations - almost ululations - that the original tune is almost lost entirely. Songs like that should never be changed much at all. To do so (for me) shows a complete lack of musicality and musical sensibility. It may show off your vocal skills, but who cares about that when the result is so crass, and frankly horrible - but artists do it far too frequently. Keep it simple - sometimes less IS more.

ONE OK ROCK, Japanese band, has an awesome vocalist, Taka, he covered *HELLO and Easy On Me - Adelle, he can sing it in original key* check them out!! I guarantee you'll be surprised by his unique voice!! Also check *Take What You Want - LIVE Tokyo Dome 2018* their LIVE performances are always top tier, even far more better than the studio version!! You'll thank me later

Interesting! I don't remember hearing anyone say there is nasality in Tae's voice. Instead of the palate, his tone has always been attributed to his throat. Do you think it is possible he is developing a different style and moving his tone higher? He definitely keeps his throat so open it is like wind blowing through a tunnel - if that makes sense. I always imagine he has a bamboo flute in his larynx - but the sound you made at 5:09 reminded me of a whale, and that would be an interesting change for him. LOL I don't know the correct terminology or technicality for all this, but it's fun to create my own very abstract visuals from descriptions of how he uses his voice and physiology. He likes abstract art, and BTS always make interesting connections. I want to see a little of the picture he is painting - not just hear it.
