I was 61 when I first stumbled over So Hyang singing this song back in 2019 and there I was, a grown man and no spring chicken either, and I was crying! And I cried for the next dozen times I heard her sing it. In fact, it got so emotional that my right side hurt so bad I had to stop listening for a while. I still kind of mist up anytime I hear her sing most of her songs. She has that kind of communicative power, and it is obvious that she was born to do these things. She speaks at least four languages and has a university degree in French literature. And she tells us very plainly in one of her interviews that her voice "is from God." All you can say is "Hallelujah!" to that! For my money, and I don't have much, she is the best female vocalist on the planet right now. 😉😉😉

The theme for this particular episode is "English Pop Songs" and Sohyang is one of seven participants for this episode. (BTW, this is the same program where Sohyang sang "Everyone".)

IMO, she is the most perfect singer right now. She not only has the technicalities, but she also has the ability to evoke the emotion from the song. Sure, there are other singers with freakish abilities like Dimash, but Sohyang's combination of emotion and technicalities makes her the best singer alive right now.

it's a singing competition program of the Korean professional singers called as Immortal Songs on KBS. they sing a song of the legendary singers' invited to broadcast company. Arirang Alone/Everyone/Bridge over Troubled Water/Lean on Me...etc. she sang these songs on that program and won the 1st place all the time as usual. I Have Nothing/Oh Holy Night/Do You Know/Fate... etc are the songs from the other competition program I Am a Singer on MBC. Home/Breath/Hug Me/Mona Lisa... etc is from another competition program King of Masked Singer(KOMS) on MBC. this is the original program of Masked Singer US/UK/Thailand... etc (over 10 countries) she won the 1st place 10 weeks in a row on this program KOMS a few years ago and this is still the longest record. last year she sang the geatest songs like I Will Always Love You/If I Ain't Got You/I'll Be There/Misty... etc on kind of busking program Begin Again 3 on JTBC. I just wanted to cry because her singing was so moving. I think So Hyang has a beautiful voice. But I think it's more than her voice that is moving people to tears. Because So Hyang is a devout Christian and sings for the Lord, I believe her singing ushers in the presence of the Holy Spirit and that is why people begin to cry and some receive inner-healing through her music. So Hyang is a cancer survivor, so she knows WHO brought her through, and who gave her life instead of death. Ms. Whitney Houston's former agent saw one of So Hyang's videos, singing one of Ms. Whitney Houston's songs and contacted Ms. Oprah Winfrey. Ms. Winfrey then contacted world renown composer, David Foster to show So Hyang's video to him. So Hyang has been approached by different record labels and different people to work with her. But So Hyang refused all opportunities of fortune and fame and sings for the Lord and his people. She wants to comfort the Lord's people through her music. May the Lord continue to bless her and use her for his kingdom and glory. 💖🙏

Many don't know that Sohyang is a cancer survivor...because she lived, she dedicated her life to God and decided to use her talents for Him. That is what you feel when you listen to her sing...its pure and from the heart. Also, she has been offered very large sums of money/contracts to perform overseas and she declined to teach music in Seoul Korea instead...she does not want to benefit from the talents God has given her.

SoHyang is a perfectionist and used to practice continually but she said that one day the Lird told her not to practice so much. She asked Him why and He answered, " I want to sing through you but when you practice so much, you leave no room for Me". That explains why so many people are touched by her/ His voice. Many reactors have said there's a etheral sense about her, some aura or presence thay cannot explain. Our spirits recognize the Lord's presence in her even if our minds don't! That also explains why there are those haters of SoHyang. It"s not so much her singing they hate, it is the Lord that they hate!

This might be the best vocal performance of the 2010s. Not necessarily the biggest range, or tonal variety, or ornamented, but a great balance of each. All used in service of the emotion of the song, like say Lara Fabian "Je Suis Malade" or Disturbed "Sound of Silence".

Let’s here a fun song she has performed a couple of times called ,Day,Day. This is Korean Rap and it’s not easy to do in Korean( has some English in it! This Performance was done for a Korean TV show called , Begin Again Korea. It is live performance of a selected group of the Nation’s most talented singers and musicians! Normally they take the group to other countries( 2 or 3 per summer to busk and entertain, as well as introduce people to the Korean music scene! This last summer because of COVID it was decided to stay in Korea and entertain a small audience and broadcast on TV to lift the Spirits of Koreans and anyone else watching! The setting change for Performance and they must have done a dozen plus another dozen Special appearances! They have a good sound system but it is done outside and involved six singer’s and 4 musicians who all sing as well( SoHyang plays guitar and a little piano, but not in her shows) They do solo’s duets and group songs and will do back up vocals for the others!
