In My Hero Academia Bakugo goes through A LOT because Himiko Toga decided to snatch Deku through that portal in the beginning of the season, and because of him having to pretty much lead the battle against Shigaraki, his arm goes through some GRUESOME moments due to not only the explosions that his quirk awakening causes to go off inside of his bones, muscles and ligaments, but also because of how Shigaraki did everything he could to disable Bakugo’s arms so he would be out of the picture. Well after the War arc ends, in My Hero Academia’s epilogue we learn that the doctors actually gave Bakugo the option to replace his arm with a cybernetic upgrade probably much like the one who pictured for him in our first Costume Upgrade Video for Bakugo on the channel, but instead of going the Mirko route Bakugo wants to try to make the most of his arm, even with the doctors telling him it’ll probably never be the same after all of the damage that he took. Bakugo claims that he’s going to go through intense physical therapy for years and he doesn’t have room to complain because Deku lost his quirk, but that’s an update on Bakugo’s arm and if he’ll ever be able to use it again.

They didn't say he'd never be able to use it again, the doctor said it'd take a while before Bakugo can use it properly again and he'd have to go through intense physical therapy to get there. He'll heal, but it will take time. He and Deku were the ones who took the most punishment out of the class. Mirko had her limbs amputated just because she was too impatient for therapy and wanted to get back in the field as fast as possible.

The problem he has is the way his quirk works is his explosive sweat is ignited by his hands so for now his quirk is effectively gone on his missing arm. He could still manually detonate it via other means (like how Deku was able to borrow one of his gauntlets during the exam against All Might) but even that method is handicapped because he can't sweat enough to charge a prosthetic because again. His arm is gone so no skin to sweat.

@@Pokemaster-wg9gx his awakening allowed him to use more of his fluids (not just sweat) to fuel his explosions (which is why it blew-out his own heart) but his hands have always been the triggers. (AP Shot, Flight, any Acrobatics he does with his Quirk are ways done using his hands - it gives him the most precision with his quirk.)

@@Makorze He can launch explosions from all over his body now. The manga shows new pathways emerging throughout his body. Massive boost in firepower and speed. Once he's fully adapted to the awakening, he'll be able to use it without much blowback.

Prosthetic mean he going to cut his arm off. I think what you mean is a bracer or exoskeleton or whatever it’s call that ease the impact on his arm from his explosion, kinda similar to Deku full gauntlet.

It will never work. His sweat glands are how his explosion works. Replacing his arm completely nerfs him, and no amount of prosthetic nor cybernetic arm will make him as strong as he is when he had the real version. Even stockpiling sweat for the armt o use is a terrible idea, because it means he can't use his arm if the stockpile runs out.

you know what is ironic, i got this bakugou figure from a church sale, one of its arms is missing and this was before the chapter where he really damaged his arm. totally can make this figure an alternate reality story background since for one it has no arm and og has kept his damaged arm and two, the arm the figure has missing is the opposite of the one og lost.

I never watched My Hero Academia because I didn't feel like it. A year ago or maybe more I don't remember, I heard that Bakugo was dead or something during the fight, I had no idea what was going on in the manga, but that time I was so heartbroken even though I'm not a fan of the anime. His sweat is stored into the guantlets, and having a cyber arm that can store sweat would benefit him. I like the arm desine from your costume upgrade. If anything they can do that.

But that’s still a big disadvantage if he just loses his arms. The gauntlets are only there to let him use huge explosions with less harm to himself but he still needs his hands to use explosions himself. If he replaced his arms, he would only be able to use his powers with the gauntlets, he wouldn’t have as much versatility with his powers, and if they get taken out, it’s ggs.

Short version: The gauntlet’s only function is to store sweat to make a huge explosion and without arms, his only attack would be one big ass explosion which is bad because it will take too long, the could break mid fight and he would be useless, he has less versatility, and collateral damage

Bakugo was very smart to keep it. The most important point is that a mechanical arm is useless for his quirk. He needs to sweat. If his arm can’t produce sweat out of the palms it’s useless. I guess the only way a cybernetic arm would make sense for him is to be used to carry tools to enhance his abilities. Too bad he can’t just regrow his arms like his classmate
