Probably useless tips (read or don't read it's up to you) Offence, defence, PP and HP are self explanatory Speed usually determines who goes first but I think it also determines the likelihood of being able to run away during battle (I may be wrong about this though) Guts determines the chance of being able to deal a critical hit and may also prevent you from dying to hits that deal mortal damage Luck increases the chance of dodging attacks I think vitality and iq determine how much HP and PP increase each level up respectively, but I think that iq also determines the efficacy of Psi moves (there is another use for iq but you don't need to worry about that yet.) Edit: oh yeah and yoyos (and later, slingshots) usually have a slightly higher attack power than bats or other weapons, but have a 25% chance to miss, which is why people say they suck
