Voice of Baceprot -often abbreviated as VOB-are an Indonesian all-female rock trio formed in Garut, West Java in 2014. The group consists of Firda Marsya Kurnia, Widi Rahmawati, and Euis Siti Aisyah. They sing in English as well as Sundanese. The word baceprot means "noisy" in Sundanese.

Hello Dashy and Dad and welcome to Voice of Baceprot!! They were just 14 years old when they started, and right from the beginning, inspired by bands like Rage Against The Machine and System of a Down, became vocal advocates for social change, with a particular focus on women's rights and safety. Who they are and what they have to say is as important as what they play. They are educated, they are committed, they are fearless, and they are a new hope for what can be accomplished when we work together for equality and safety for all people through art/music!! Criticism and stigma came and went from all directions and almost made them want to give up on the music scene in 2016. "The more we try to avoid criticism, distance ourselves, it becomes even more vile, it provokes us to fight even more bluntly," said vocalist and guitarist VoB, Firdda Marsya Kurnia. "We want people listening to this song to be more tolerant of others. Baceprot is a word from their etnic language, Sundanese (Province of West Java, Infonesia). Baceprot means “too much talk” or “noisy”.. 😀😂 VoB is my loved metal band, was founded in 2014, in their yunior high school. Now they are just 22 - 23.

In a way, such a sad song. Like rock and roll was "the devil's music" in the sixties by the christians. In Indonesia Islam also seems to condemn their music. Strange, how religions seem to outlaw anything that moves your heart to the core. These ladies are not only very talented. They are brave too. I admire them deeply.

"Voice of Baceprot" Many people still don't know them, even at first they were notified by the foreign media. Experiencing a lot of bullying, terror and even death threats just because of their identity, as a Muslim woman of course. Now their band has turned 9 years old, and of course I wish them all the best.
