They both helped Juan grabriel in his beginnings , when Lucha was in decadence in the late 80’s Juan Gabriel gave her songs for an album which of course took her to the top again , he never forgot those early days

Todas esas canciones son muy buenas,pero si reacciona a ellas que sea donde la cante otro artista de esa época, pues el gran José Alfredo Jiménez era una eminencia en la composición,pero no tenía voz para cantar.

Awesome Andy. I'm one of those who'd requested them, especially Lucha Villa. Bear in mind this is live. They had those movie microphones you can't see on camera. I would think she was a contralto but what do I know about voices.

She has that timbre for sure but I think she's singing in the range of a Mezzo. I'd have to hear more from her to truly give an opinion.

He wrote some of the most amazing classic Mexican songs, songs still being covered to this day. But the story goes that he didn’t know how to write or read music. He was a farm boy that imagined the music in his head when he wrote the songs. Sadly fame made him an alcoholic and he died very young

Jose Alfredo is the greatest of all time. He is probably the most respected, passionate, and amazing composer Mexico has ever had, and in my opinion, the greatest of all writers in the world. You do not understand how important this man is in Mexican culture/music. All of his songs were given to the public prior to his death, he just loved music... and women. He wasn't known for his voice, but for his passionate song writing.

José Alfredo isone of our best songwriters. Everyone in Mexico knows at least 5 songs by him and we sing them at the end of a party when everybody is a little or very drunk :)
