What I was so poorly trying to refer to in the video was how I worked with a lot of clients on KPOP. I misspoke. 2. Compressors and auto-tune are completely different things. I was not talking about auto-tune, I was talking about compressors. Compressors are often used in live and studio environments. They are not a bad thing, they are a good thing. I thought that singer was fine in both clips. 3. I don't know everything, but I have spent an enormous amount of time learning what I know. I am actually a professional voice teacher. love how he repeated Chen's part in Monster liiiike, even strangers know he's got it, our high note vocal legend Kim Jongdae🤩 And his worst was bc fans were literally sCREAMING they couldn't be heard so he had to pick it up a notch but he sang (screamed) basically a minute or two into the song, so his voice got all raspy :< that Monster stage was indeed the worst one :')

When you said that Taeyeon is scared of high notes and her mistakes was just cuz of her mentality, thats pretty spot on. She mentioned a long time ago that she doesn't really like or enjoy high notes.

The EXO one literally was me when I first started listening to EXO and I listened to monster. I really love that song and those high notes and runs towards the end messed with my heart and I couldn't breathe after that. Also, what's your opinion on the cover of "Breathe" by Lee Hi on "The King of Masked Singers"? (I think that's what that show's called) I cried when I heard it because it was so emotional to me

I think a big part of the problem is they don't teach proper vocal technique when they train idols. With good technique they won't have to switch during notes or strain, etc. But they just teach them how to reach notes by any means necessary. Better technique will make your voice last longer as well.

Joy's part was sad because she was actually ill at the time and was so hard on herself afterwards. It's a shame that people include clips of someone who was sick in these kinds of compilations. Joy explained: “2 weeks before our comeback I had problems with my vocal chords. It sounded like my voice was cracking. It was really hard because when I tried to sing a note, it wouldn’t come out. I really wanted to do well during live performances. I practiced a lot, and I cried and went through a lot of internal struggle.” If you watch Joy perform on "The King of the Masked Singer" (where she made it to the next round) or the vocal line perform on "Immortal Songs" you can see her talent when she isn't ill. I hope Joy continues to build back her confidence because her voice is so unique and beautiful.

Finally a genuine reaction! I noticed all vocal coach reaction to kpop vocals all seem fake cause they know how big the kpop community is and they are afraid to get hate so they don't give a real opinion.

He was so accurate when he talked about Jimin being nervous and not trusting his voice/techniques. Most ARMYs (old ones especially) know how hard of a year 2016 was for Jimin and tbh Jimin can be a great performer and show such amazing stage presence and sing really well but sometimes when he has to do high notes or when he has to do an important performance, you can literally see how nervous he looks. It even shows in his voice sometimes.

SM artists are trained well with head voices so they often mix in head voice when they know its out of their range. But as you can notice thar their main vocals are pushing their chest voice because they are confident with their range.

He didn't even say anything about Jimin. Just facts. And the facts weren't mean. He didn't say Jimin was a bad vocalist, his technique just isn't amazing. We all know Jimin can sing, he just needs a bit more vocal work than other idols to do it well and not strain himself and I see NO problem with that. Improving is a wonderful thing. This video was honestly very educational. Like before I didn’t see anything wrong with their high notes but now that you mention how they pull off after the note I started to notice that. I was wondering if you could react to jimin’s high notes because in my opinion I really feel like he’s straining his voice in them, I’m curious if I’m right.

As a musician (mainly a pianist, but I’ve also had around seven years of choral vocal training) AND a K-pop lover, I really appreciate this video! People get so offended when I try to tell them when their favorite idol is having trouble hitting a high note. I’m really just commenting on what I’m hearing and the technique that they’re using.

Lol I’m a huge BTS stan but this man is telling the truth about Jimin. BTS doesn’t have the best vocals. They still have a lot of work to do on their voices. Now, they’re all great singers, but they have their moments when their voices don’t do very well. Jimins voice is very delicate and light, and sometimes when he’s dancing so much and he’s so insecure about his voice, it tends to crack or come out pitchy. And the “Best” one for Jimin I’m BST definitely wasn’t 100% natural. Sorry, but it’s the truth.

Even though I’m a huge army and have lived bts from almost at debut, jimin grew up around hiphop and he does feel insecure about his vocals (like in burn the stage) and I understand your criticism and I say well done to you because considering some people being touchy about this, you were honest and I like that. Imma subscribe. I also understand the vocal stuff because since I’m going into a career that requires a lot of singing, i had to get a vocal coach and I love their constructive criticism because I learn. Some people just need to understand that criticism doesn’t mean to hurt someone, but to show them ways to improve.

the fact that even a first time listener like him can tell that Baekhyun is a joker and its just one of those days where he knows his condition is not 100% but he still goes for the notes regardless. about the chen highnote in monster, the first clip, it was something with the mic bcz in fancams you can hear his note clearly where his voice didnt crack so that clip is inaccurate.
