I don't know if anyone has mentioned that vocalist Asami is a petite 4'10" which obviously is not preventing her from being one of the most powerful female vocalists I have ever heard! A superb front-woman in every way, perfect for LOVEBITES!

Asami is vocalist & primary lyricist, Miho is lyricist on thrash & other songs she writes. Blond guitarist is Midori. Dark haired guitarist is Miyako. Bassist/founder/leader is Miho and drummer/founder is Haruna. All are near 30yrs and veterans of other bands. Asami came from Rhythm&Blues admiring Aretha Franklin. This is her first "front woman" role in a band and had no history of Metal. Also ballet danced for many years (her moves!). Miho and Haruna were bandmates in a previous all woman Metal band, Destrose. Midori is also a pianist, also medically educated, qualified pharmacist, began guitar at 20 later graduating from Musicians Institute, was in a previous heavy band and has built one of her own guitars. Miyako is a classically trained pianist from age 3, began guitar at 18 and has said she would be teaching if not playing this demanding music, Heavy Metal! Miyako and Miho are primary composers, Miho often with 'friend of band' Mao.

Asami is an amazing singer! She comes from an R&B, Soul background by the way, this is her first time singing Metal music. Try "Edge of the World" Live 2020 next, another great showcase of what she can do! Thanks and stay safe.

Lovebites background: Asami (singer, writes a lot of the lyrics) Miho (founder, band leader and bassist; composes some of their thrashier songs) Haruna (drummer; 4'9" pocket nuke) Midori (guitarist, recently wrote her first song for the group) Miyako (guitar and keyboards, main composer for the group). They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho recruited her former bandmate Haruna, and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. They came together in 2016. A key aspect of their sound is the difference in personalities between the two shredders: Miyako (dark hair) and Midori (blonde ponytail). Midori is the extrovert and show-off; Miyako is the introvert, composes most of their music (along with Miho, the bassist), and is also a classical concert pianist.

l was literally just wondering if you had done more Lovebites reactions and this just popped up lol EDIT: If you are looking for more Live from them I suggest Burden of Time -- Studio Live. but yeah Japan is coming out with some of the best rock and metal bands right now and alot of them are either all female or coed. if you want to delve in the rabbit whole i suggest BAND MAID, Nemophila, Gacharic Spin, Unlucky Morpheus, Bridear, Scandal, Aldious and TRiDENT. And thats just off the top of my head.

Asami is a complete singer, she can sing Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey, and even reportedly sang Judas Priest"Pain Killer" at the audition. She was chosen to the band by rest Ladies to be Frontwoman. Great.

LOVEBITES is really powerful! There's another all female, japanese supergroup out there - NEMOPHILA. They formed in 2019 and their lead singer uses diverse techniques and styles. Aside of your great review, your prospective of Japanese culture is veeeeery wrong. Japanese women were never oppressed nor held down. They have been the same the whole time. It's just their mind set. New women??? What the heck? Please be aware that no matter how much you are trying to choose your words, no matter how much you are praising this band, you are just denying them 100%.
