This is the best reaction that I have seen. Although I was already a teenager before Sinéad was born, we both came from the same town in Ireland. I was also one of her neighbours for 15 years and often saw her around. Either walking on the beach with her kids or at the local grocery store. She was easy to talk to and would always acknowledge a 'hi Sinéad' with a return greeting. Not pompous or stuck up at all. During the lockdown she was often to be seen on the front steps of her home having a smoke. I now regret taking her for granted. We have lost an icon, and a troubled but gentle soul. Suaimhneas síorraidhe a Shinéaid. Beidh tú i n-ár gcroidhe go deo na ndeor. Ní bheidh do leithéid ann aríst. Ba fhíor Gheadheal thú a Shinéaid. Go codladh tú go sámh le do mhac Séan (Shane) 1966-2023 😢🇮🇪

Thank you very much for your very empathetic reaction video. I was fortunate enough to see Sinead at a concert in a church in Cologne in 2012. A very special moment. There will never be another artist like her again. I recommend the documentary "Nothing Compares" by Kathryn Ferguson. Very touching cinematic portrait that Sinead herself took part in.

Thank you from Ireland for your reaction☘ We are mourning our beautiful Daughter Sinéad💔She was a force of nature with unmatched talent, but she was also very fragile. Please react to her live acapella performance of 'I Am Stretched On Your Grave' - a 17th-century Irish poem that she transformed with just her voice and a 'beat box' sample; She was keening for our Country & it is pure perfection. The media and music industry cruelly shunned her for speaking THE TRUTH about the catholic abuse of innocent Irish children, including herself & she was eventually proven CORRECT - now an acknowledged fact globally. But the damage was already done to her and her career. I hope they're proud of their relentless victim shaming of a 23 year old girl who was brave enough to speak out. Rest easy sweet Sinéad - I hope you're finally at peace with your beloved son, Shane💚

This truly was one of the best reactions to this song by the legendary Sinéad O’ Connor. She was and remains my favorite singer too. New subscriber here. Looking forward to hear you react to more of her songs. One of her later songs called Eight Good Reasons would be a good choice. The lyrics that deal about her reasons why not to commit suicide are so meaningful.

Thanks for such an intelligent and compassionate reaction to Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares to U" I'm 5 years older than you and feel very much the same as "The Lion and the Cobra" and "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" were very much a part of the soundtrack of my life during my mid- to late 20s. Her passing is kind of like losing a friend that I had shared those times with. We don't know her cause of death yet, but I'm hoping it's not suicide. Even if it was, it's not surprising as to be as sensitive as she was, having experienced so much trauma, and to be an icon on top of that is a lot to bear. I listened to her autobiography "Rememberings," which she narrated in the audiobook version and she sounds so tired and this was before her son Shane committed suicide. Still, she was actually planning to study to be a hospice worker in between music gigs. That's why she called her next album "No Soldier Dies Alone." Some people thought she was crazy because they didn't understand that she was just genuinely very spiritual. There are even anecdotes about her kindheartedness in the remarks on KZfaq videos. One person met her once in a therapist's waiting room and before she went in for her session, she gave him a hug. Another helped her at a fragrance counter and said she was lovely. I worked in the music industry for awhile and know from experience that not all famous musicians can be described that way.

I wouldn't say I was a friend of Sinead's but I did have the pleasure of meeting her a few times and she was a beautiful person. As has been said of her, she was diminutive in stature massive in heart and gigantic in soul.

we have the same age, we shared almost the same "background, our timeline was almost running the same (daughters are born within one month diffrence) so for me she was not only the best singer in the world, she also was my refuge. I found recognition and the courage in her music. I hope she has find the peace she needed so much. Love her to death

Who is Cher, who is Madonna. They came nowhere close to Sinead’s o Connor talent but they decided to sell their souls. I disagree with her being non binary to be honest. She was a pure beautiful woman and only didn’t let the industry abuse her body for sales. Shaving ur head or not wearing skirts doesn’t mean you have a confused gender. Nothing to do with third gender but she was more one of the first punk artists. And she died a believing Muslim, may God rest her soul.

I also strongly disagree with the Non-binary comment. Way out of left field. Why would you apply that label to her...? Because you are trying to sell this Non-binary nonsense for yourself, or your students. Not productive. Sinead never in any way suggested or said that she was Non-binary. Surely she would have if she was. No shrinking violet, thank God.

With all due respect, putting down Madonna or Cher is equally wrong. Sell their souls? They did exactly what Sinead did: followed their hearts. They love the music they do. And work hard to deliver the best they can.

@@paulopinheirosc that is your opinion. They are good artists yes, good in selling their bodies and being slaves to the music industry. They have no character as singer is my opinion and def not the singing talent Sinead had.

@@paulopinheirosc I agree brother. Thank God we all have different tastes and opinions. And I would not doubt that they worked hard or faces many problems life. But for me it is important to see how they turned out to be. We all see their materials and what they do with their fan base and voice. Madonna even ridiculed Sinead when she ripped the pope’s picture by ripping another picture. Why ? For what ? That shows people’s true colors and agenda.

Sinéad once said “I am not in a box of any description.” Therefore, putting her in a category such as non-binary is not aligned to her. She was very much a woman and embraced this side of her.

As an Irish woman a few years older I understand much about what happens to a young woman especially pretty as she was, you get tired of the come ons of men and want to be taken seriously. I'm sure from what she's said this is part of why the shaved head, etc. So, don't read anything into it but what she said herself. It is a hard road she traveled. She gave it her all. Let's be thankful for what she gave us.

I don’t feel she was non binary. I saw an interview where she said she didn’t want to be liked for her looks when she had hair. I think that backfired because she’s beautiful with no hair to me. I think the big wailing in the song was her letting out pain. Too bad that pain and/or other pains followed her. RIP Sinead. I hope you found peace. You were beautiful……….
