Fun Fact: Yuridia was named like this in honor of Yuri (wich real name is Yuridia as well). Yuridia's mom did this because she is a big fan of Yuri and liked the name too. Yuridia became a fan too during her childhood, then she jumped to a singing reality, was 2nd place and became famouse, this twist of fate will take her to perform along with Yuri as we can see in the video.

I love both Yuri and Yuridia. You should really listen to a solo performance of Yuridia. She has an amazing voice. She uses notes that not many other singer use. Her voice is sultry, seductive, and dark. Just amazing!

Yuridia was one of my first ever crushes growing up in my household. This is the only time I ever watched "La Academia" in full. To date, she is the most successful and popular singer to ever be on the show, and that's even that she got 2nd place on 4th season of the show. 9 year old me was in love everytime I heard her sing. She holds a special place in my heart because she was the first album I ever bought. (with my own money, even though it was birthday money lol).

Yuri was the winner back in 1979 at OTI Festival (Spanish: Festival OTI de la Canción) was an annual singing competition, held between 1972 and 2000 among active member countries of the Organización de Televisión Iberoamericana (OTI) (English: Iberoamerican Television Organisation). It was preceded in 1969 and 1970 by the Festival Mundial de la Canción Latina, held in Mexico. And Yuridia She came in second place in the fourth season of the reality show La Academia, back in 2005. @@bboyzwar Es en los minutos 7:01 7:39 Y en el 8:12 Yuri comienza una segunda voz arriba y hace otro agudo perfecto. En el minuto 8:17 tan pronto Yuri acaba el agudo mira la cara de Yuridia, ese es el rostro de la derrota. Yuri fulminó a yuridia con esas notas.

@@bboyzwar No les falta potencia a ninguna de las dos. Yuri tiene más potencia que Yuridia, pero aún así Yuridia no se queda atrás. Aunque es cierto que a Yuri si le tienen que bajar el volumen a su micrófono por tener mas potencia. Pero el problema aquí es que en este concierto no tiene un sonido de consola por asi decirlo, se escucha que tomaron el sonido por así decirlo del ambiente casi casi. Por eso no se escucha tan fuerte. Este concierto no es de alto presupuesto, fue un concierto benéfico así que nadie se preocupo por una gran producción en el escenario

Yuridia emerged from a singing reality show. There was this judge who used to tell her, that she didn't reflect any feelings despite having a great voice. She was told to be too insecure to succeed. Look at her, and what she can do on a stage. It's wonderful to see how affectionate and appreciative your reactions are. Thanks for being so lovely about Mexican artists.

@Ignacio González Lo siento pero Yuridia es una nezzosoprano muy mal entrenada y con un rango vocal limitado.. tu mismo mencionas el como siendo mezzosoprano no puede ni cantar decentemente notas graves y en agudos ya ni hablar, simplemente Yuridia NO tiene agudos. Yuridia nadamás es una voz nasal y de rango vocal minúsculo. Yuri siendo mucho mayor le dió la arrastrada de su vida.

Love Yuri so much! I think she’s such a generous performer too. And she reminds me of Ednita Nazario, maybe because I used to listen to them around the same time, but also there’s something about the potency of their voices that remind me of one another. I’m not as familiar with her more recent stuff but if you can find one of Ednita’s live performances of Aprenderé, Ahora Es Tarde Ya or Tú Sin Mi, I think you might like.

Yuridia participated on a singing contest similar to the voice, and she didn’t won, however Mexico went insane for her voice, and the judges said she was at the level of Yuri and Amanda Miguel, she has a great career and honestly I’m so excited to hear your opinion on her voice
