You have had the opportunity to watch and listen to Morissette in a variety of songs - all LIVE and in various different settings. YOU of all people should know a lot about Morissette. Your wife however make comment based on limited viewing (this actually) and make a comment that seems with conviction on her mind, just like a few (I mean rare too) reactors with voice teacher background who too had absolute limited views of Morissette. I remember viewing your reaction. Over a year ago back in June 2021 of the same song - but with only you as the reactor. You made a comment about Morissette’s voice cracks and how much you loved it UNLIKE a few voice purists who deemed such vocal technique as mistake, perhaps under the weather (sick), “under the note”, and one that can hurt her vocals. The truth of the matter is, those who criticize singers who use this technique is one they dissuade fro it’s use and refrain from admitting that yes it’s a technique but one that is carefully orchestrated into her (Morissette’s) vocal performances. In other words, the voice techniques that she uses are INTENTIONAL. If Morissette knew that the use of this technique (voice cracks, not to mention whistle notes) knew and understood that the use would be detrimental to her voice prowess, so you think she would intentionally, let alone naturally, use them? Of course not! If your a superior vocalist and have absolute control of your vocal instruments…then you wouldn’t hesitate to use them. If you bother to watch and listen hundreds if not thousands of posted videos of her performing, you would understand voice cracks and whistle tone have been used among her vocal arsenal as a singer. First, did you review the duet with Marcelito Pomoy with Morrissette Amon at the Wish Bus Awards? It's awesome. Second, I tried to see if you have ever reacted to Angelina Jordan? I didn't see it so far. If you haven't, I'll give as brief as I can. She entered Norway's got Talent at 7, by 8 she won. She entered America's got talent at 13. Her opening number was Bohemian Rhapsody. She did such a banger of a job that Queen let her have the copyright to it. She didn't win. There's a lot of politics about that show. Won't get into it. Her cover of Scream'n Jay Hawkins at 9, is mind blowing. During this time wrote I think 4 originals? At 14 she signed to Republic Records. Did 2 more original pieces. Her platform is jazz. She's now 16 & just finished her tour in Norway. Her performances are all done in bare feet. Story behind that. As a matter of fact she wrote about it & became the youngest to have a book published at 9 in Norway. She has during this time done over 150 covers. These are just the bare highlights.
