The Protestant guy said at the beginning of the video that he did everything in his power to disprove what his Catholic friend said about the canon. That shows that he didn’t search for the truth but rather whatever would fit his bias. He discredited the entire video from the beginning. Great job Alex with bringing out facts and actual history.

Its sad how Protestants pervert the holy scripture and how they are taught like soldiers certain scripture to go to war with the Catholic church. We aren't taught to weaponize the bible like that, and I can say how blessed I am that I was raised Catholic. However I did fall away, and when I came back to the faith I listened to Protestants which all said something differently, it threw me into confusion until the holy spirit guided me to the one true holy apostolic church.

@@brandonedwards1181 We fight against the false doctrines were they are. All false doctrines have been identified for years and proper interpretation of scriptures has gotten leaps and bounds better over the years . The Churches with false doctrines teach changed meaning of scriptures to cover for the false doctrine like a Cult does, making it difficult for those defending the false doctrine to see the truth. The false doctrines take many Christians to hell by slow separation from God.

"3 things our protestant friends will not have without the catholic church" 1: The sacred scripture 2: The doctrine of trinity 3: The doctrine of Hypostatic union short canon history The Bible is a Catholic book. The Magisterium of the Church has the authority to determine the Bible canon. In AD -382 Pope Damasus-I At the First Council of Rome, the first complete canon was promulgated ... All 73 books (46 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament) are included in today's Bible. Pope Damasus declared that not a book should be added to this canon, nor should a book be taken away from it. Council of Hippo (AD - 393) Reaffirmed (state again strongly) 73 books in the Bible. Council of Carthage - Reaffimed the declarations of the Council of Rome in AD - 382 and the Council of Hippo in AD -393. In AD - 419 the 4th Council of Carthage confirmed all the decisions of the 3rd Council of Carthage. The Council of Florence (AD - 1442) reaffirmed the canon. Council of Trent AD-1546 Reaffirmed the canon. St. Jerome's Bible (Latin Vulgate) is officially announced once again. The Purpose of the Council was to counter the false doctrines caused by Protestant heresies. *British Bible society* and Robert Haldane (not Calvin or Zwingli or Luther) was responsible for removing 7 books from the Protestant Bible. Under Haldane's leadership, in 1821, a movement began against the British Bible Society demanding that funds not be given to Bible societies that were printing the Deutero Canon. The resolution was passed in 1822, which means that it has been only 200 years since Protestant churches started using the 66-book Bible. In the Heidelberg Disputation (AD1518) and Theses - 17 and 35, Luther quotes from the book of wisdom, Sirach ( Deutero Canon) for his arguments. Martin Luther debated with Catholic theologian Johann Eck in AD-1519 about the doctrine of purgatory... Luther's Arguments are Debunked... With that moment Luther took a stand the book of Maccabees was not part of the Canon ... (Jewish Canon was Right) Luther who rejected the canon of Septuagint rejected classified Epistle to the Hebrews(as it teaches about the priesthood -Hebrew 13:17), James( as it teaches that there is a reward for man's good works, James 2:24) , Jude, 2 Peter, 2 and 3 John, and the Revelation of John as disputed( The Book of Revelation It is not useful to understand Christ, it does not have the work of the Holy Spirit). The question is But why are these books still included in Protestant Bibles? Some Protestants argue that the Catholic Church established the canon at the Council of Trent. !!! So how did the Deuterocanon appear in Martin Luther's and other Protestant Bibles? Doesn't it sound strange...!!! Huldrch Zwingli published the Bible in German in 1531, Martin Luther in 1534(German), and John Calvin in 1560 (English)All these included 73 books. In AD -1611 the king James version of the Bible was released ... and it had 73 books. The 7 books of the Old Testament were included under the name Deuterocanon....Interestingly, many references were used from these for the New Testament. After AD-1885 the Deutero Canon books were removed from king James Bible... Protestants would have the doctrine of the Trinity even if they incoherently hold to an incomplete canon. There were Trinitarians solely on the basis of scripture before the Council of Nicaea. Just because a statement was more clearly defined to address the false teachings of heretics does not mean the doctrine developed on that day. This is not an argument for sola scriptura, which is false, but just highlighting the reality of what took place long ago.

Another canon argument that I’ve become interested in is how undecided it was all the way up to its solemn dogmatizing at Trent. While yes we have many regional councils and even ecumenical councils prior to Trent that corroborate the Catholic canon, we can still see disputes over certain books through history even with cardinal Cajetan in the 16th century. This indicates that the canon was not so big an issue for most Christians that the church had to define it, because they had the church to teach sound doctrine. If Sola Scriptura was the paradigm, we should expect to see the canonizing of scripture far earlier in history and far more solemnly, but we don’t.

What does the selling of indulgences have to do with how the bible was put together? His video just went completely anti-catholic bc its not a genuine video about the bible. You know what I think is so interesting? When we start having the debate with protestants about the bible or authority somehow we always start discussing Luther (whether its protestants or Catholics) as if Luther is their "authority". Seems to me whether protestants like or or not they look to Luther as an authority and if they don't they still have an authority at their church whether its a pastor, elders, a board, etc. So why are only Catholics badgered about authority? 🤔 I would LOVE videos over what each of the counsels taught.

You didn't creat, nor do you have any authority to compile or certify any canon. Catholics follow a bloody church and a false apostle who they call father, and they pray to saints and Marys.. and nothing will ever help them hurdle that. They ARE the Roman Collegium of Pontiffs. Then, I derive comfort from it, because I'm reminded that Jesus told us we would be hated: John 15:18-20 18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also. Another false position of the Protestant is to assume that because the deuterocanon is not found written in the Hebrew language, then it follows that it was therefore not among the ancient Jews… But you see, the Dead Sea Scrolls confirm Deuterocanon books in the Hebrew language and the later Masoretic Text “disappeared” them. Because the Jews did not have a list of books among them. They rejected their King. No central authority = lawlessness.

Also indulgences weren’t exactly bad either. They were also cheap for that time too. Extremely cheap. And even said that if you had nothing to offer just go into prayer and whether u bought and indulgence or not you had to make a mini pilgrimage. And if you couldn’t you would be assisted in your situation. The church was and always has been very providing.

So between 400ad and the reformation 1000 years later Catholics were just bumbling around lost at sea until the king decided in 1500 to create a state sponsored Christianity, which resulted in thousands of different Protestant sects each disagreeing with each other, culminating in Joel osteen meets self help + solid musical entertainment. Ridiculous.

I have the 1611 King James Bible and they have those 7 books in a separate section. When I first got it, I wanted the cover to be engraved with my name along with, "faithful Catholic" under it. I got that Protestant Bible along with the English Standard Version as well. And then I found out later that the English Standard Version has a Catholic edition. I got those Bibles so that I can use them with Protestants when I have dialogue with them. I can say to them, see it's here in your Bible version, which by the way, the Catholic Church gave you. 🤣

Prottys are similar to Muslims in this aspect- thet think Jesus was SENT WITH A BOOK, and He was not. Those books were written by witnesses, and the "early" church was the one who declared which books were authentic and which ones weren't

In that silence, we can discern, in the light of the Spirit, the paths of holiness to which the Lord is calling us. Otherwise, any decisions we make may only be window-dressing that, rather than exalting the Gospel in our lives, will mask or submerge it. For each disciple, it is essential to spend time with the Master, to listen to his words, and to learn from him always. Unless we listen, all our words will be nothing but useless chatter. This is why the books of Maccabees should be ignored as inspired is because the author literally tells you he wrote it and it is coming from him. This is why this book should never be used to draw doctrine from like Purgatory. The Compiler’s Epilogue 38 If it is well told and to the point, that is what I myself desired; if it is poorly done and mediocre, that was the best I could do. 39 For just as it is harmful to drink wine alone or, again, to drink water alone, while wine already mixed with water is delicious and enhances one’s enjoyment, so also the style of the story delights the ears of those who read the work. And here will be the end.

@fantasia55 Not equilivent. Paul tells us that he was choosen by God to preach the Gospel. We are explicitly told when Paul is speaking as Paul see 1 Corinthians 7. Pretty much everywhere else is God speaking. In Maccabes he wants you to be entertained by his history lesson. Facts do not care about our feelings. Which is why that book shouldn't be in the canon.

Let your priests talk, let us see how would they defend. Protestants talk based on the scriptures as you do. But if you hear the priests preaching on the homily, you wont hear something that comes really from the word of God (even if it's against their personal opinion) but they preach from their own opinion and feelings they use the holy mass to scold people and shame (maybe not all). May be you have studied the bible just for this purpose to defend the church because for the past decades you know the state of your church, the priests when questioned outside, cannot even quote verses on the bible. Wont even talk about salvation outside the church on regular conversation, or to ordinary people outside their faith. It's a good move of your church to have you upfront, because the catholic church is way behind the protestant churches in terms of the knowledge of the bible and interpreting it, i did not hear any priest interpret bible the way pastors interpret, prays the way pastors pray. But i don't think you do this because of the love of the Lord but instead I see pride and fear to be discovered the wrong of the church. If you would only preach the teachings of the Bible even being a catholic, I will respect you, but I don't feel the holy spirit is working in you the way you talk, which i don't see humility inside of you. I pray that God enlighten you, may you come to the knowledge of the Lord Jesus, His real mission and touch your heart. You will know it when the desire of your heart is pure, and you know what is inside you, just be honest. Because in the end of our life, the reality will slap us of the truth that the religion that we are fighting here on Earth is not the basis of God for you to enter heaven. Coz even those not in any church, even those in the middle of the amazon forrest but know in their heart the superiority of God in their lives, and live in the fear of the Lord will be saved, more than us who are here fighting against each other whether who is right nd wrong. I pray that the love of God be upon our hearts.

The Ancient Canon Lists of the Early Church did not include the Apocrypha from outside Palestine. The RC and EO have always attempted to rewrite history anachronistically to propagate their unbiblical propaganda. Melito (c. 170). Origen (c. 240). Eusebius of Caesarea (c. 324). Cyril of Jerusalem (c. 350). Hilary of Poitiers (c. 360). The Cheltenham List (c. 360). Council of Laodicea (c. 363). Letter of Athanasius (367). Gregory of Nazianzus (c. 380). Amphilocius of Iconium (c. 380). The "Apostolic Canons" (c. 380). Epiphanius (c. 385). Jerome (c. 390). Cyril of Jerusalem was a bishop of Jerusalem. From his Catechetical Lectures, iv. 33-37, about A.D. 350. OF THE DIVINE SCRIPTURES. 33. Now these the divinely-inspired Scriptures of both the Old and the New Testament teach us. For the God of the two Testaments is One, Who in the Old Testament foretold the Christ Who appeared in the New; Who by the Law and the Prophets led us to Christ's school. For before faith came, we were kept in ward under the law, and, the law hath been our tutor to bring us unto Christ. And if ever thou hear any of the heretics speaking evil of the Law or the Prophets, answer in the sound of the Saviour's voice, saying, Jesus came not to destroy the Law, but to fulfil it. Learn also diligently, and from the Church, what are the books of the Old Testament, and what those of the New. AND, PRAY, READ NONE OF THE APOCRYPHAL WRITINGS: for why dost thou, who knowest not those which are acknowledged among all, trouble thyself in vain about THOSE WHICH ARE DISPUTED? READ THE DIVINE SCRIPTURES, THE TWENTY-TWO BOOKs OF THE OLD TESTAMENT, these that have been translated by the Seventy-two Interpreters. Gregory of Nazianzus (329-389) was one of the great defenders of the orthodox faith (as defined in the Nicene Creed) during the second half of the fourth century. His famous discourses on the Trinity did much to revive the strength of the orthodox party in Constantinople, where he served as bishop from 378 to 382. Concerning the Genuine Books of Divinely Inspired Scripture The divine oracles should always on the tongue and in the mind be rehearsed. For God will indeed give a reward for this labor, so that you may obtain light from anything hidden, or, what is far better, that you may be spurred by God to greater purity, and thirdly, be called away from the cares of the world by such study. BUT LET NOT EXTRANEOUS BOOKS SEDUCE YOUR MIND. For many malignant writings have been disseminated. Accept, o friend, THIS ARE MY APPROVED NUMBER. These are all twelve of the historical books, of the most ancient Hebrew wisdom: First there is Genesis, then Exodus, Leviticus too. Then Numbers, and the Second Law. Then Joshua and Judges. Ruth is eighth. The ninth and tenth books [are] the acts of Kings, and [the eleventh is] Chronicles. Last you have Ezra. The poetic books are five: Job being first, then [the Psalms of] David; and three of Solomon, Ecclesiastes, Canticles and Proverbs. And similarly five of prophetic inspiration. There are the Twelve written in one book: Hosea and Amos, and Micah the third; then Joel, and Jonah, Obadiah, Nahum also, and Habakkuk, and Zephaniah, Haggai, then Zechariah, and Malachi. All these are one. The second is of Isaiah. Then the one called as an infant, Jeremiah, Then Ezekiel, and the gift of Daniel. I COUNT THEREFORE, TWENTY-TWO OF THE ANCIENT BOOKS, CORRESPONDING TO THE NUMBER OF THE HEBREW LETTERS. Athanasius of Alexandria (A.D. 296-373) was the most prominent theologian of the fourth century, and he served as bishop of Alexandria. His list of canonical books was published as part of his Thirty-Ninth Festal Epistle of A.D. 367. After the list he declares, “these are the wells of salvation, so that he who thirsts may be satisfied with the sayings in these. Let no one add to these. Let nothing be taken away.” From his Thirty-Ninth Festal Epistle, A.D. 367. 2. But since we have made mention of heretics as dead, but of ourselves as possessing the Divine Scriptures for salvation; and since I fear lest, as Paul wrote to the Corinthians, some few of the simple should be beguiled from their simplicity and purity, by the subtilty of certain men, and should henceforth read other books- THOSE CALLED APOCRYPHAL - LED ASTRAY BY THE SIMILARITY OF THEIR NAMES WITH THE TRUE BOOKS; I beseech you to bear patiently, if I also write, by way of remembrance, of matters with which you are acquainted, influenced by the need and advantage of the Church.

But Tobit 4:9-11 says: 9 So you will be laying up a good treasure for yourself against the day of necessity. 10 For charity[a] delivers from death and keeps you from entering the darkness; 11 and for all who practice it charity is an excellent offering in the presence of the Most High. And Tobit 12:9 says: For almsgiving delivers from death, and it will purge away every sin. Those who perform deeds of charity[a] and of righteousness will have fulness of life; Did not Jesus encourage us to save up treasure in Heaven, in various ways including by helping those in need?
