2023 brought a lot of awesome music and special moments for VoicePlay, and their rock tenor Eli was the reason for many of those! Eli is well known for his amazing rock voice, but also for his voice overall, his voice acting and acting skills, his riffing and insane high belts, his amazing lighting skills and his skills as a background designer in Unreal Engine, and now also as an amazing arranger! Here's a small compilation of some of my favorite moments of his in 2023!

Eli's voice is amazing and his ability to change in front of our eyes... WOW. That last line in Seven Nation Army? The newest picture they posted of him looks like a "hold my beer" moment.

Totally agree with “Rock God Eli” & “Unleash the Eli” (both should be a T-Shirt like Violayne). I think Eli’s tell is his eyebrows they tell you - fear me, love me, I’m a pirate, I’m gentle, I’m being a big kid

Just LOVED this. And yes, none of the other kids pulls off "badass" like him. Under "7 Nation Army" I commented that he's THE one you'd want on your side in any battle... 🙂 I agree with EVERYTHING you say about his voice. I find myself always waiting for his parts the watching one of their videos. And he has such a variety of voices! 🤩🤩 For me, after Valhalla calling he went from "tenor" to "Rock God of Asgard", and that's still his "qualification"... Although he's much more than that. 😁 Thank you for this video and for all the others! PS: I tried to hold a single note for as long as he holds his singing in that clip... I passed out half the way in 😅

He truly is a chameleon! Right on with the eyes too...he really showed them off in Noel which even though its a Christmas song i listen to year round. It always amazes me in videos when he seems so intimidating/scary/badass when hes truly SUCH a nice guy

Thank you so much, Huldra, for this video. I have come to love each member of this group because of not only their talent, humor, and variety, but because they all get their spotlight in each song. It keeps things fresh. It's highlights everyone's talents, but shows how their sharing the melodies in each song melds together and makes it greater the sum of their parts, if that makes sense. So glad you are recovering well. Hope you get back to better than normal very soon.

Bruh Eli was freaking on fire in 2023! Absolute beast mode! Valhalla Calling, Nothing Else Matters, Seven Nation Army, Drunken Sailor - he's really established himself as Voiceplay's primary tenor, and I will never tire of hearing his rock tenor vocals. However, I do also love his lower/baritone register, and he had a few great comedic moments last year too, such as in Drunken Sailor and Jingle Bell Rock 😁

Agreed! His lighting designs just keep on getting better and better, and add so much to the atmosphere and emotion in the videos! He really has a great eye for how light affects everything 🤩

Thanks for the comment on Eli's acting skills. I've thought for a long time that Eli and Layne are really overlooked for their acting chops. And Eli's theatrical range is as impressive as his vocal range. Some of his characters aren't only bad ass, they're downright scary. Each of the guys brings something different and something amazing...

Yeah, I love the diversity in the group. They all have their different strengths they bring to the table, so it's easy for the arranger and videographer to pick the right person for each part

Oh this was awesome Huldra - what an insanely talented man he is. I LoVe his rock voice - the secret weapon none of the other a capella groups have. He brings such an extra dimension to the group. Thank you Huldra! I love these videos so much🥰 There is something special about each member of Voiceplay. Individually, they are incredible, and when combined, they are even greater than the sum of their parts. They are pure magic. In a recent video the reactor said their favorite Voiceplay member was whoever was singing at that moment and it is hard to argue with that, lol!

Thank you for trying to find “favorite” moments when every note from this man is perfection. His rock god high riffs cut with a razor’s edge, yet his soulful more quiet voice strums every emotion. And shall we mention that he has a bass range? If you forced me to select my favorite among a group of absolute legends, Eli Jacobson would be it.

Absolutely everything you said in this video was completely correct. Love Eli!!! All of these guys have something extra special about their voices as well as their vocal skills!!! I truly hope that they are around producing and putting out their music for years to come!!!

Absolutely. I had to laugh when it mentions the others look as if they're acting tough. I immediately thought "especially Layne in that one". (7 Nation Arny) He hasn't a bad bone in his body. :)

Huldra, I've got an idea for a video! At the end of this year, do a compilation of ALL their videos from this year! Yeah, it'd be long, but it'd be interesting to see their talents grow from video to video as the always seem to do! And is anyone going to complain about "too much Voiceplay?" I'm betting "No!"

Yeah, I'm glad he got his vocal cords tested for any damage, and was told they are perfectly healthy. He clearly has found a healthy way of doing rock vocals, so he does no harm to his voice.

Yes!! I love Eli so much! ❤ I've always said he pulls off the badass look the most convincingly. Go to Valhalla Calling, pause any time, I repeat any time, you want to on Eli, and tell me that is not a man you would be scared to run into in a battle. Of course, the vocal talent is off the charts. He is truly amazing. Great tribute to Eli 2023, Huldra!

I've probably watched at least one hundred reactions to "Nothing Else Matters." I love it when the reactors are familiar with the song, because they're often just a tad disappointed at the start with VP's "softer" or "sweeter" approach--until Eli throws the rasp into "and nothing else matters." THEN, they say "oh yeah!" and start really loving the cover. What a master! I don't even remember what song was my intro to VoicePlay, but I remember that, from day one, Eli has been my favorite.

lol, no haven't asked him about that! and trust me, I've never had more issues cutting down a video to a reasonable length in my life, lol. every time Eli has a solo part I'm all "favorite moment!" 😂

Yeah, not everybody knows that he actually naturally is more a baritone than a tenor. He can almost go as low as Geoff goes in chest voice, Geoff just does it easier and sounds better down there. 🙂
