Now we are enjoying the playful VoicePlay boogeying along with the Boogie Man. I loved this particular version of the song very cool arrangement and of course finished off perfectly with the 'Geoff-quake' at the end. In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg is another really fun arrangement by the guys and their guest vocalist. If you are unfamiliar with the piece by name you will know it when you hear it I am sure. 😉

Most of the "special effects" to their voices are just their own voices...they are just that good. I do think you would enjoy the Dragon born comes. The harmonies are incredible and the low notes that Geoff hits are just WOW!!!

The "character" voices were all done by the singers. Since most of them have worked at the big theme parks around Orlando, doing character voices isn't really anything new for them. And to top it off - Eli (bald guy in the red outfit) not only did his character voice, but also provided the voice for Santa Claus - Eli does voice acting on the side.

I didn’t watch this movie until a couple years ago at my son’s strong recommendation. Not because I don’t like scary things, it just didn’t look like something I’d like. But after watching it, I’d say that while there are some spooky bits, it’s more funny than scary. You probably wouldn’t want to watch it alone, but get some trusted friends together and check it out. I liked it a lot more than I expected to. As for other songs, This Is Halloween (the preview at the end of this video) and Kidnap the Sandy Claws are both songs they did from that movie.

Nice one Red, you hit the jackpot on this one scared or not - turns out it wasn’t really scary, just funny scary 😂 If you like theatrical then The Dragon born comes from Skyrim is really good! It showcases Geoff and Omar Cardona a guest, they sing part of it in the language Dovahzul, (Dragonish); the arrangement and video are outstanding! Edit: forgot to mention, Geoff is the arranger of most of their stuff and also the main founder member.

The preview song at the end of the video was from the same movie.. Its called "this is halloween" definitely worth hearing 😊❤.. Voiceplay has 2 or 3 songs from nightmare before Christmas.. And Geoff did one of the songs from it on his solo channel called "Jacks lament" which is better than the version in the movie in my humble opinion. 😊❤

Oogie Boogie is the villain of Nightmare Before Christmas just a big ole' bag of bugs and the characters are "Boogies Boys" Lock, Shock and Barrel.

I would have suggested this on your first Voice Play reaction, but it was way past Halloween. So glad you did! I’ve still never seen the whole movie, but I love the video very much. This was my first Voice Play video I watched and it left me wanting more and more. Then I had hit the subscribe button. They’re right below Home Free in my favorite a cappella groups list.

Theatre kids of a capella for a reason, but of course their vocals are insane!! Geoff had to stand out in this one because someone had to be Oogie Boogie. There are other songs where he is simply the bass and not the lead. There are others from The Nightmare before Christmas (which incidentally, I have not watched either!): Kidnap the Sandy Claws and This is Halloween. Both of which you will enjoy. Fun reaction from the 'scaredy cat'. 😆💕 They certainly seem very theatrical in their videos and come at it from a fun angle which is good. I guess it also gives them their own niche too within the a capella groups that are around at the moment.

Well done for sticking it out! This was a great song, first one I saw that showed off a fair bit of Geoff's range! Yes, there was an 'extra' at the end, a teaser of another song from the same movie - 'This Is Halloween'..! Think between VP and Geoff, they have now got 4 songs from this movie, it seems to be a favourite of theirs! 😊

A Night On Bald Mountain it's an classical piece usually played by orchestra no vocals their acapella version is great shows of other group members very well also, as well as Geoff.

Geoffs brother -in-law is Sandy Claws. They use family members as extras. My #TheaterKidsOfACapella.

They have so many good songs, but My Mother Told Me is one of my favorites by them.

Their Halloween songs are all like this... The only remotely scary one is Ding Dong... It has a jump scare and more creepy singing... But worth it. I suggest Friends on the other side and This is Halloween, too

I'm right with you. I don't do scary at all either. I don't think the movie this song was taken from is particularly scary but I don't know for sure because I haven't seen it myself. Anyway, some other suggestions for Voiceplay are Hellfire which is from The Hunchback of Notre Dame (feats.Geoff again), Skyrim/The Dragonborn Comes (with Omar Cardona), In The Hall Of The Mountain King (feat. Elizabeth Garozzo) and just to break things up a bit, a beautiful ballad (no costumes) covering Bonnie Raitt's I Can't Make You Love Me (feat. EJ Cardona, Omar's brother). Of course, there are SOOO many and they are all great. We VP fans (if I may speak collectively) are enjoying your journey and happy to take every step with you. Looking forward to the next one. ✌

Actually VP has done four songs from Nightmare. (Plus the one that Geoff did on his solo channel.) "This is Halloween," which you just saw a preview of, might creep you out if you take it too seriously. If you haven't done VP's covers of "Little Mermaid Medley" or "You're a Mean One, Mr Grinch," those would be good. Who cares about the season, right?

While I am NOT comparing them, stylistically they are very different, you need to listen to Geoff's "solo" version from his channel - I put solo in quotes because its one of those where we get "lots of Geoffs" singing the different parts :)
