I’m already a Voiceplay fan but had NO idea this existed - I couldn’t remember who sang it and was searching for the song and KZfaq showed me this, I really like this

Good grief...Voiceplay was the clear winner here...Footnotes may have had more singers but they were all horribly off key and out of sync and harmony with each other.

@Alexandria Hauser I think the footnotes singer also had a voice that was REALLY not suited to the song.

Voiceplay also had way more variety throughout the entire song with their singers, the Footnotes mostly stuck with one main singer

Even thigh you guys didn't win in my mind you guys were the only group I saw and loved and hopefully I will get to meet you in LA or Riverside. And I really hoped you guys would be here on my birthday but you guys will be in Nashville. And Tony you are so lucky to be in your favorite place in the world I wish I would be there to see that house in person

No reason to be so negative. They were both moving around a lot, it's no surprise that some sound quality and vocal support can be lost amidst the jumping and moving about so much, of course some people get out of breath. It takes a lot of skill to sing AND dance. And to get choreography down in a very short time, yeah some people might be out of sync a little... They're only human. Also... this is their rendition. It's not going to match up to the original perfectly, maybe they went flat in spots on purpose? Ever think they're singing for the fun of singing? Eesh. As long as both groups were having a ball, that is all that matters in the end.

Right?!??! One of my biggest pet peeves is when people complain about covers sounding different from originals. Like if you want it to sound like the original, go listen to the original tf?

@@boo5822 I was in choir from 7th to 12th grade and into college (pretty much as soon as my schooling allowed for electives of MY choice - but I did have music class required 2x a week in 4th and 5th and IIRC once a week in the previous school for K-4th but ICR that far back other than the 2 teachers I had for my main classes). My favorite class of the whole day had always been music. Music over sports any day. One of the things that always was said was that "The musical score is only a guideline, you can change the key or a few notes as long as it doesn't change the piece's overall quality and meaning." I remember one piece, "Yo Le Canto" where it had clapping, but the choir director also put in footwork and extra hand gestures... as a bigger person (in spite of daily exercise and eating salads and other healthy food) oooh boy was I out of breath by the end. But it was hella fun!

This was a bad song for Footnotes, it was a song that was not good for their style of singing. Either they chose to just sing it their way or they were unable to adapt and change their sound. On the Voiceplays side the song was a good fit for their voices and style. Its a bad mashup but thats part of competition, sometimes you have to adapt and complete where your opponent is stronger. If you dont, well we know what happened.

I think that she was just for the show. Their current videos seem to feature various guests.

@@jiahb I'm pretty sure she was a temporary addition, for the show and for a few videos later. Then Tony left and J came in. And they still feature other singers.
