Major volcanoes have always had the potential to disrupt life, all around the world, one way or another. But it's those caldera volcanoes that have the potential to really rock our world.

All Strato Volcanoes are relatively dangerous compared with the shield volcano. But the good things is, unlike earthquake this one came with warning and notification so it's easy to organise evacuation and save as many people as possible

Why is the caldera the most dangerous?
@mansoormannix1753
@mansoormannix1753 4 ай бұрын
@@Feed-My-Mind-Not-My-Ego caldera is the depression left on the ground after an eruption, the size of the caldera can give volcanology rough estimation of the chamber beneath the active volcano. Shield volcano is known for creating a crater while majority of strato Volcanoes collapse on itself after eruption and seal the outlet staying cool for a very long time depends on compound chemical accumulation of an individual hot point. Some even form lakes or accumulated ice cap and pressure build slowly slowly over the years until the magma chamber can no longer hold that's when you will start hearing growling and experience some waves of tremors that is the time to run for your life and completely vacate the area because any time eruption could take place and no one can out run pyroclastic flows . Hope I have given some clue why caldera is not something to ignore. You can Google Mt St Helen, Mt Vesuvius, Pinatubo, Mt Tambora, and Thera in Greece.

It's good to alert people on the danger they are sitting in. Campi Fugrei, Indonesia is another place you must look out which places you wanna settle, Mt Tambora or lake Toba is a place you don't wanna live 50KM radius in it flanks or foots. Mt Fuji Japan, Mt Vesuvius Italy, Yellow stone America and Mexico City in Mexico. This are the most dangerous place to live 100km near.

Yellowstone is an inadvertent smokescreen for Long Valley, everyone looks at Yellowstone when Long Valley is more likely to go, there's as much or more pointing towards Yellowstone shutting down than erupting. Also more likely doesn't mean likely, the odds are so low it's not worth worrying about either, we take orders of magnitude more risk getting in a car than being affected by a super volcano.

What do volcanologists say about the likelihood that Mt Rainer will erupt any time soon?
@The_Dudester
@The_Dudester 4 ай бұрын
Highly unlikely, however if the Cascadia Subduction Zone slips, that will change. Currently, there is only a 2% chance of the zone slipping, but 300 years from now it will be 100% likely that the zone will slip. Besides the 9.1 quake and subsequent tsunami, there will be landslides and if any volcanoes in the Washington/Oregon area have heightened activity, a landslide will cause an eruption, very much like the Mount Saint Helens landslide and subsequent eruption in 1980.

Just think: if any of these major eruptions occur, it certainly would halt global warming in place. With all the ash in the atmosphere, it will block out the sun and cause a huge cooling trend. So which one is more terrible? There's always going to be environmental catastrophes. What we should do is realise that there is only now and too many people live for something later, something intangible, something in the future. I almost died in 2017 and I have not regretted a single day since. Tell people you love them. Hug more, argue less. Apologise first, you never know if that will be the last time you will see them. Ask yourself this: "is it more important for me to be happy, or for me to be *right?*" Be bold. Be happy and realise that too many people found out too late that being right is lonely if you could have been happy just once more before they were gone from your life forever.

@sudonymh 4 ай бұрын
@@catonkybord7950 I AM speaking for myself just as you are speaking for YOURSELF. Clearly your grasp of English expressions needs some work. When a word is transliterated into another language, the speakers of that other language will invariable pronounce it however the heck they want, so Dutch and German are hardly the definitive authority on the pronunciation of foreign words transliterated into English. Since we're using English, guess how English speakers would pronounce it. Assuming you're German or Dutch, and we were communicating in those languages, then the speakers of THOSE languages would get to decide how it's pronounced. If you're the authority on the language from which Krakatoa originates, then I would think you'd know that the language is not Indonesian but Javanese. Have a nice day...somewhere else.

When that Peruvian complex pops off, the Morenci Mining District of Arizona will become MIGHTY important--that's where you'll want to go, if you're a Copper miner, as Copper prices will sharply rise. Whenever I see aerial footage shot close in, to an ongoing eruption, I get all fearful for the pilots and their aircraft. It's so easy for their engines to ingest ash and cause the aircraft to crash. A pilot might not see the finer, less visible stuff that's surrounding their aircraft. The absolute worst phenomena that volcanoes discharge, are pyroclastic surges, and when those mix with ambient waters, lahars. The surges could travel upwards of 200MPH. Exposed to the extreme heat--even many miles/kilometres from the originating vent(s)--will vaporize anything combustible. That's what happened to thousands at Herculanaeum and Pompeii. And also in the vicinity of the surges, you may not see it, but lurking far away from the visible churning ash clouds, are fatal Sulpheric and CARBONIC gasses (Yes, you "Green Meanies", you may take some "vindication" that CARBON, is ALWAYS LETHAL--only the Carbon "created' by man, though!!), that trigger agonizing suffocation. Lahars will scald anything living, in these super-heated mudflows, hundreds, even thousands of feet/yards/metres deep, moving far faster than the creeks and rivers that formerly occupied these channels. Oh, something else for you Green Meanies--were you aware that all of the Nuclear Weapons Testing in the middle of the previous century, have PERMANENTLY disrupted the planet's tectonic progression/processes, through their concussions? That's right; WE caused Pinatubo, St. Helens, Tohoku/Fukushima, and more!! Another volcanic district, rarely discussed, is the Lassen-Shasta District. Perhaps the famous, yet well-forgotten eruptive period of Lassen, during World War One, may have relieved some of the magmatic/plutonic pressures, but Mt. Shasta, is NOT extinct. It's currently quite reposeful and dormant, yet with very little warning, the activity could quickly elevate, as with Mount Saint Helens. California's Upper Sacramento Valley--Redding/Red Bluff--would sustain annihilation from lavas, surges, and lahars, working their way down the Great Central Valleys perhaps to Fresno and beyond. The same could be said with Oregon's areas, well up their Wilamette Valley. Depending on the then-existing weather patterns, the San Francisco/Monterey Bay Areas could sustain varying degrees of ashfall destruction. SF Bay would then become useless to maritime navigation for thousands of years yet to come. Most of the Sierra Nevada would lose its forests, from ashfall and ignitions from thermal phenomena. Could propagate to Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and points beyond. And finer ash making its way all the way to Europe.

It's the same as a solar flare, an asteroid, India and Pakistan having a nuclear war. Or even just getting into a fatal or worse a traffic accident that leaves you a paraplegic or with catastrophic brain damage. Your loved ones might be glad that you are still alive. But would you be?

@@amandagreen4332 except that that happened regularly sine the last ice age, while there was no eruption in that same time. It, of course, might still happen, it's just very very unlikely. The Big One on the west coast is way more likely to happen during your lifetime.

Christian spiritual warfare,fasting teams,praying,blessing,breaking curses, teams,repenting,staying away from sin. Say this god I ask you to send demons that are after me to purgatory,hell I understand you will do according to your will in Jesus name amen. Ways to survive ask god to give you a good group or family to live with under one roof so you can get help on bills. Like a group of 12 christian friends in a two story home. Also create or join a christian militia have eachother protection in mind also share resources. Etc.....ghhgjvjh

Overall, 47 volcanoes were in continuing eruption status as of 15 December 2023. An eruption marked as "continuing" does not always mean persistent daily activity, but indicates at least intermittent eruptive events without a break of 3 months or more. Count on the Iceland volcano erupting in 2024, but it will be a "fissure eruption." And PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, stop saying that Yellowstone is about to erupt. Click seeking YT channels forecast this daily, just as a heroin junkie can't resist a baggy of heroin sitting on the table.
