This is absolutely professional and this actor plays almost better, than in the movies cause he is even more naughty and badass here, and even the expression in his eyes looks really evil and dangerous and if he kills Hephzibah and before, his eyes look really Psycho. Amazing! It would be great to make a film of Voldis whole life. This is such gorgeous!!!

I don’t think so. He Maybe wouldn’t have talked about him being the greatest wizard, but his greatest weakness has always been his anger and emotional outbreaks, you see that in CoS and GoF, especially in his early years. And he didn’t mind lying about his opinions but not about something that little important as Quidditch when they have already been friends and she was in love, so there was no need to manipulate her

I am happy that they showed the scene with Hepziba Smith, cause it appears only in the book "Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince" and I have read it so many times that I wanted to see it as a scene in a film once, even if it wasn't in the official movie.

I don’t think young Tom would go off on another student let alone be prideful in front of anyone. He’s always shown to be manipulative and keeps a facade at all times. He would have kept a lot of his feelings to himself, be calm and collected until the time to strike.

I really love how you took a line only spoken in Chamber of Secrets (Enemies of the heir beware) and turned it into Voldemort’s whole thing for this fanfilm. The ending is probably my favorite part of the whole thing. Great job!

Why are so many people being so negative? For a fan made project, this is seriously impressive! Just think about the effort and time this took to make. It's not "garbage" just because it wasn't what you were expecting. It is a very impressive short film, and these people should be praised for that.

The only scene that really bothered me was, despite it looking visually beautiful, was the scene with Merope and baby Tom playing with the locket. Merope sold the locket when she was still pregnant, and died very shortly after giving birth to Tom. That scene was never possible.

They were well cast in terms of looks, but there's a few inconsistencies with Tom Riddle. One of his traits all the way through is that the mask never slipped, and Dumbledore was the only one who saw him for what he really was. He charmed and manipulated everyone around him, and would not have allowed his emotions to show through, and always remembered that he had told Dumbledore too much on their first meeting. He was careful to never do it again with anyone. Other than that, pretty well done.

I wish they could have made tom less cheezy in this film. In the books he was silent and charming. He didnt appear over confident and cocky. They completely went off with that one. He wasn’t loudly saying he would be the greatest wizard in the world. Only Dumbledore was able to even see what he would become.

Not strictly true, depends if you go by book or movie canon. In the first book the philosophers stone it is described very clearly he has slits of nostrils, so certainly even if he had a nose it would have looked very warped!

We know he kept the charming mask with professors, but in order to win respect in Slytherin as a no-name half-blood - one probably assumed to be a *mudblood* at first - he had to show some ruthlessness. Especially to win the loyalty of Mulciber, Avery, Lestrange, Nott and Rosier.

We also know for a fact Nott was in the Slug Club at the time of Tom Riddle. Nott in fact was the son of the man who wrote “The Sacred Twenty-Eight.” Just how far did the no-name boy from a Muggle orphanage have to go to get these boy’s respect? I sincerely doubt talking to a snake once or twice did the trick.

I really wish J.K.Rowling made more movies connected with Voldemort and his beginnings instead of focusing on the Fantastic Beasts and the crimes of Grindelwald. However, I am really happy this movie was able to bring me back the feeling of excitement and joy of being once again in the wizarding world. All the actors were amazing, the story and plot-twist were surprisingly good. The only thing that bothered me was the audio and the overused close-ups on the eyes of literally every character. However, Great job!

For those saying Tom Riddle wouldn’t have ever shown his ruthlessness to fellow students, remember that he came from a Muggle orphanage and was sorted into Slytherin - run by Horace Slughorn - just as muggle-advocating wizards defeated Grindelwald. Slytherins would have despised him. In order to win not just respect, but outright loyalty from the top Slytherins of his age - Mulciber, Avery, Lestrange, Nott and Rosier, most if not all of whom were older than him - Tom would have had to demonstrate repeatedly he was the most powerful. And that wouldn’t just come from wand-waving in charms class. Also remember that under Headmaster Dippet, corporeal punishment was sanctioned. It was a much more cutthroat era than Harry Potter’s and more so than even James Potter’s time.

I would die a happy man if a true prequel was made about Tom Riddle’s formative years and his ascent to the dark side. My favourite of the books was always The Half Blood Prince, because we got to learn so much about Voldemort’s back story from the private lessons between Harry and Dumbledore. It would be amazing to learn even more.

At the end, when tom says "you violated my souls tomb" i assumed he meant when when they took the diary from its hiding place. But upon listening again, you realize he means his soul that's still in his body when the veritiserum forced him to talk of his past. At this point hes trying to forget "tom" and become "voldermort"

And I noticed that when he refused to say Voldemort (while disguised), he was talking about Grisha’s memory. I assume he used some form of magic to gain the memory from Grisha, as it was not his own - but nevertheless he was talking about a past which involved him. He wanted no association between Tom and Voldemort.

Para todos los que se quejan del audio, efectos, etc. NO la hizo Warner, bien dice "fanfilm" sí, tiene sus defectos pero se agradece que las personas se tomen el tiempo y hagan el esfuerzo por relatar algo que nos gusta. A mi parecer estuvo bien hecha y apegada al universo de HP, fue grato recordarlo y, una vez más, agradezco el que hicieran algo así de un personaje que nos acompañó a los lectores/espectadores de la saga. Tienes toda la razón! Para ser hecha por fans estuvo impecable, maquillaje, casting, efectos, ambientación, todo, se entiende lo del audio porque el tipo de micrófonos que usan para grabar películas son carisimos y obviamente el presupuesto de los fans no da para alto tan caro

Great work. You can always tell beginner/student writers...the dialogue isn't natural and reflective of how people speak normally - the pros get this wrong sometimes too. Nevertheless, the execution on this as a whole is inspiring.

One of the best fan films I have ever seen. I watch it once a week, since I've known it. I wish there were heirs to the other houses, and it makes sense to me, that Godric, Helga & Rowena had kids, although not mentioned besides Helena Ravenclaw. And who says Rowena didn't have any sons, we just don't know. What bothers me here: 1.Merope Gaunt, never held Tom in her arms, she died right after giving birth to him, and he sees the locket only when Hepzibah is showing it to him. 2."The Raven is superior to the Snake". Wrong! It should be: "The Eagle is superior to the Snake". 3.The ending was so sad to my eyes. I liked it and didn't like it at the same time. Which makes this movie a master piece. 4.The lip syncing is horrible, I rather to hear the Italian with subs in English.

Lol no way. Hermione is clever yes and compared to her generation she looks super smart but people like Sirius and James and Lily were all just as smart or even smarter than her. Lily was exceptional in charms and potions and E/O level good when it came to other subjects yet wasn't known to be a bookworm or nerd or geek so one can only assume she didn't need to study as much as Hermione does to get really good grades. Also there's the fact she was controlling her accidental magic way before hogwarts. As for Sirius and James they barely opened a book except to look up spells/potions useful for pranks yet they managed to be not only top students but dedicated pranksters (which is undoubtedly time consuming) and also became animagi at age 15. Tom is even beyond that level because he was doing active magic as child way before hogwarts and then during hogwarts years not only did he consistently outperform every student in every subject he also studied intense dark magic and created a (possibly two) horcrux. Hermione while clever isn't versatile. She follows rules and instructions and isn't fluid. It prevents her from reaching the level of people like Tom, James, Sirius, Albus...

BRAVO, BRAVO, SIR this almost looks like something you would actually see in theaters. These people must have had a considerable budget to put together all these set pieces and special effects. I don’t know if this was a film school project or not but if it was they should be getting top marks. All my props to the creative story telling team as well, this is just goes to show what people can accomplish when they are passionate about something.
