We have partnered with VolkerStevin to deliver a number of construction schemes, including the build of a high-level pedestrian and cycle bridge crossing the Wear to improve connectivity between the city centre and the Stadium of Light.
To date they have supported 6 apprentices, providing them with invaluable on-site experience to support their studies and develop #SkillsForLife
We visited the site of the new Wear Footbridge development to speak with VolkerStevin apprentices Adam Tattersall and Amelia McVay, as well as Project Director, Mark Denham, about the important part they're playing in connecting people to key parts of our beautiful city.
