@Mum On a Mission, we have recently become a family of 4 with our 2nd daughter born and I cant help but think of summers ahead and quality family time together so am looming at the potential of buying a Caravelle. Would you recommend this for a family of just 4? I am thinking of camping trips, taking bikes, the children and their friends on trips etc etc. Do you find this vehicle is worth that or do you not find your self using it that much? Any feedback appreciated!

@@harrycowleshc Would have loved to own this when my boys were in car seats - would have been so much easier! They are now a teenager + a few years younger so we're a family of 4 albeit my boys are rapidly turning into men!!! I originally thought we might leave the 2 centre seats out most of the time i.e. have it as a 5 seater but the boys love their central row armchairs so we just push those seats right back against the rear bench seat and everyone has loads of room. We just slide their seats forward when we want to carry friends/team mates. The rail system for the rear seats is excellent, the rear centre table looks good but I'm not impressed (takes up a lot of room and is just the wrong height for anything so we've taken it out). On the downside I do have a little parking anxiety though, it's nicely manoeuvrable (considering) and fits in spaces fine but it's not a tiny hot hatch so there is always the worry of unexpected and stupidly low height barriers or idiots banging their doors against it so if I can I park a little further from where I'm going in a quieter spot. I work from home anyway so our mileage isn't huge and this year is unusual anyway but I've never had an issue just a nervousness if going anywhere new. If I had a stupidly small office car park to park in every day my answer might be different... Also I'm not convinced that all the finishing is up to the standard of the same price luxury car. There are no faults just things which seem to have been designed with more of a utility commercial mindset trying to do luxury rather than for the pure aesthetic experience - does that even make sense? For the way I use it I absolutely love it and really enjoy driving it, son's hockey team and maths challenge team also enjoyed being driven around and once I've dropped them off I sit in the bus and have a cuppa whilst they play! I tow a small touring caravan with ours (some images and vids on it on my channel) and the combo of that with the "bus" is just perfect for us. I've made a few additions to ours - curtains, slide out rear kitchen, etc. which I'm putting together into a "creating the ultimate family day van" for my channel, will come out in the autumn. It's reasonably thirsty fuel wise but it's large so that's understandable and a lot of our miles have been towing so I haven't collect a fully representative set of data yet. I went for the 199PS, 4 motion DSG which considering it's a box of air drives really well and can get off the lights at a reasonable pace ;-) I'm not convinced such an engine would be required unless you were trying to tow a heavy caravan off a wet field but test drive different sizes loaded with the whole family to see what you think. Usually I hate autos with a passion but this one is ok! Hope that helps - go test drive some and get a feel for it (leaving the wallet at home at first!) you'll soon know whether the positives outweigh the slight challenges ;-)

There's enough space to walk from the passenger / driver seat in to the rear of the vehicle without having to get out.

@@CaliforniaChris I do understand that but there should be a storage cabin or a fridge for the California modela with comfort leather trims on top besides the arm rest

@@CaliforniaChris also the handbrake is bit old for that car it should be replaced with a Button handbrake

@@tiezon-topic the California Coast and Ocean models do come with a fridge. Plenty of storage too. The Caravelle is more of a passenger vehicle so doesn't come with them :).

@@tiezon-topic Agree about the handbrake. The T7 model has already been rumoured and, if it's anything like the new Caddy 5, it should have an electric handbrake.
