Really comprehensive review, Josep, far more detailed and informative than the magazine articles I’ve read so far. I own a 7.5 R but love this new model and hope to upgrade to a new R or GTI 2 years from now.

I have the GTI. Unless you some need for AWD, and an extra 12KW, I'd give it serious thought. I nearly went for a 7.5 R, but given the 8 is basically the 7 Club Sport (same brakes, engine, suspension) the 8 is magical :)

Thanks for this wonderfull Review! Im in for a new lease car. Have several options, but for now have like 2 cars in mind that i can choose from. The Golf Life Business 110PK with the 17 Ventura rims and the Comfort and Assistance option packs.. These 16 inch ones doesnt seems so sporty to me.. Or i can go for an fully loaded new polo R LINE Business 110PK DSG with the 17 inch bergamo rims and Elektric Panoramo roof and all the other option packages. Hard choice, as both cars drive good. Both a 3 cillinder. The Golf is a more mature car, but the Polo Rline is killing it with sporty look :).. What do u recommand?

With regards to the audio and temperature infotainment controls, are you able to touch and hold to increase/decrease the setting, instead of tapping multiple times or sliding?

Hi Cristian this car with 115ps will come with a torsion beam setup, if you want independent rear suspension you need to opt for a Golf with 150ps or over.

Koliko je skup Golf 8, mozemo ga uporediti naprimer sa Golfom 6 GTI koji je 2011 godine, kostao je 23.878 eura, so benziskim motorom 2,0 i 211KS, a ovaj osnovni model, je preko 25.000 eura! Sta mislite kolika ce biti cena Golfa 8 GTI?

Love the car but I’m very disappointed about the mirrors not folding inwards! I have to park on the road because it won’t fit in my garage ☹️

You can get optionally folding option. It’s standard on next trim.

"Blinkers" are called "indicators". Blinkers are a device put at the side of horses eyes so they aren't spooked by passing traffic.

Yes it does. It's quite hidden in the menus but when you find it, you can choose to Eco, Sport, Comfort or Normal mode.

well, there's one big dislike for touch control of everything. it's more distracting while driving compared to physical buttons and knobs. It is OK for infotainment systems but terrible for basic systems like lights, ventilation and so on...

Freaky Kiky I also hate the electronic emergency brake. Electronics can break, but the mechanical ones will basically always work. Also I feel like the interior is starting to look a bit similar to Toyota’s. A lot of stuff look similar in styling to my mom’s 2019 Rav 4. Preferred the styling from previous years for the interior but I like the exterior.
