Awesome vid mate. Just a question though, are you applying the brake and accelerator yourself or is the car doing that as well?

Good question.. I apply throttle and brake .. the car controls steering input … thanks for watching 😉

Thank you Brian! I watched the official VW video but it left so many details out that I was none the wiser. This has helped loads and I'm going to go and try it out later on.

And this is why I never use mine. I thought I was doing it wrong. Just turns out the system can’t park properly. Great video though.

I got a 2019 Tiguan R-Line Tech with the 360 camera package a couple months ago and never had the inclination to try this, im assuming its more accurate with painted lines to work from as the car has the lane assist anyway so the 360 cameras should pick that up i'd imagine?

Unfortunately I’m less experienced with Volkswagen, so I’m not as familiar with your 360 camera so I can’t give you a definitive answer but I would assume it would be superior, sounds like a nice car do you have!

l got a 2022 t crss and the thing never recognises a vertical car spot, only horizontal like it's all road parking.

Did I understand correctly? Did the car itself change from parallel parking to perpendicular? Or do I need to press something?

you control the pedals, vehicle controls the steering 👍

You just demonstrated how the park assist failed to put you in this massive space properly. Thats okay, but bad coverup :)

I think to be fair the car was in a poor initial position to park in that space. Arguably the park assist should know to drive forward first if that was the case.

I mean not really a great feature considering you have to do it all except steer and if you can't steer back into a parking s then you have need to he behind the wheel

Meanwhile other drivers are behind you getting very frustrated at best. Learn how to do it yourself. I’m on my third car with this function and have never used it.
