2002 Owner's Manual supplement for the Passat W8.
PS: It's amusing they used the radio memory set "boop" tone for all of the warning indications the car makes, from the "beep" for setting the seat memory, to the "BEEP!!" when the washer fluid is low or the outside temp is below 32*F.
Also, check the quick glimpse of the new Microbus at 31:18. I think people roll their eyes when I mention it's been coming soon for 20 years!

5:23 lol. My GMC Sonoma used to have this issue, if you didn't get the cap just right, the light would come on. "Or call scobby doo and the gang"

Only around 11.000 produced in total. Probably too expensive for a Passat. Which is a shame, I found it quite interesting.

I don’t remember early noughties being so cheesy, they felt like we were right on the edge. Also, 9.2 MPG on the display, what the hell! ;)) An entertaining lecture nevertheless.

Nice video. Have not heard "fuzzy logic" talked about for a long time, they don't seem to use it in marketing these days for anything. What is the device you are using for capturing these vhs videos it looks pretty good. I assume you are using a 6 head vcr too as don't see the streaks across the images with worn old tapes as you would on a 2 head deck.

In the vw TCU there was a parameter called "Sport Factor". That's what the fuzzy logic is. With the scan tool you could lock it into Sport or Economy, on the few I've driven I found it worked better with it enabled. Hmm, I can't remember if I left it on with the V10 though. The 722.6 MB cars had this same function. For capturing I'm using a 90s Sony 4 head VCR, going into a Canopus FireWire capture box. I also use a 2000s Samsung dvd/vhs combo, in some cases it has a better picture. I upload the .DV file right to KZfaq.
