I used this method for my 19 sportwagen. I didn’t use the hazards, just held down trip reset(0.0 button under cluster) and held my foot on the brake after starting the car. Just held down the button and it reset my oil as well as that annoying inspection. I only posted what worked for me in case someone else was looking, not trying to correct op.

Thanks, great vid. Here's what worked for my Mk2 Tiguan (MY18) - Hazards on, hold 0.0 button, ignition on, comes up asking to reset oil, lift finger off 0.0 button and press again. Turn ignition off. Repeat again, except this time remove finger off 0.0 button and press again at reset service interval.

Oddly it wasn't actually working for me when I cycled the car all the way on. It worked when I only went to the ON position. Weird

Adam, thank you for the instructions. The tip about turning on the flashers and holding the 0.0 button long enough (after the reset oil service message passed) were key.

On my 2017 vw touran, basicly you keep holding the 0.0 button untill it notifies "Reset Inspection?" Then you let go and press one more time and it resets. So its not holding it untill it goes away.

It did work on 2016 GTE. Tried few times with no success, but then switched it off, opened/closed the drivers door and it was gone / system updated.

"Inspect Now" is just an annual heads up to have the car checked out. It comes on automatically annually so it's fine, a check engine light is all you have to worry with.

On my VW you don't need to put the hazard warning lights on 9r start tge car, just hold the reset while you turn on the ignition.

It's not necessary. Just a reminder that VW recommends a dealership inspect your car every 12 months. Most people do an annual oil change + inspection at the dealership. They look at various suspension components, check for safety issues like lights, sunroof greasing (if applicable), other stuff. It's all in your manual and can be done at home then you can reset the service reminder.

Thanks! Had the 10,000 mi inspection for my 2016 e-Golf done at the dealer, but guessing they never reset the timer because it marked me due for inspection at 18 months. Morons.

In USA it's a review of the vehicle by a qualified shop to ensure things are maintained (wheels, brakes, suspension, etc).

Great car but you will eventually understand how a vw engine works inside and out after 5-10 years of ownership. Plastic cracks, electronics fail, engine gets gunky, if you don't replace some things you are gonna lose an engine like any euro car.

@@AdamChandler86 I see the "Are you sure you want to reset inspection" I continue to hold until it disappears but it goes straight from that message to "Inspection Now!" I've tried multiple methods, that's the only one that gives me the prompt I want, but then it just doesn't go through :(
