oh my, can’t wait to get my one. gonna come this weekend 😃 Testdrive was awesome. No DSG but switches gears super smooth, incredible. I had it for a short time on the highway on „D“ and it went like crazy. Same model.

How was it. Am looking at one too. Gen 1 face lift. TDI too. Would have liked the rear mounted spare wheel but this one does not. I love these tanks. Was really debating between this one and an e53 3.0d. But since am looking to get the e39 later, the touareg makes sense for an suv. Am thinking of towing and some good travel off the beaten track. The touareg beats the bimmer on these.

Let's be honest... I'm VW fan,I've had VW Touareg 3.0 V6 later tuned to 248HP. Originaly with factory settings, It was at 120km/h about 14-16l/100km. Faster you drive,more It drinks. When later tuned to 248HP,at 120km/h it drank minimum 16l/100km.Combination driving was always about 20-22l/100km. Top speed was arround 205km/h and nothing higer at about 26l/100km. I've sold It with my broken heart and bought Passat B8. Then I was shocked...Passat at 215km/h had only 8,6l/100km. How is that even possible?

Touareg is heavier, it has higher air resistance and rolling resistance of tires (wider tires), probably shorter last gear than Passat which translates to higher fuel consumption

Your touareg tdi is more thirsty than my v8 petrol touareg, 120km per hour with factory tires 12.5L -13L , with 33 inch off road tyres 14-16L but actual speed is more than 130 because very big tires diameter.

The passat are Berlin like a missile his aerodynamic is good the tourage are SUV fatty SUV like a house its look like you roll with house his aerodynamic are shit like a Van's and the weight of the tuareg is unbelievable under 2t

Hello i want to buy a Touareg . I like in uk but im concerned about the fuel consumpion . Im looking to buy a 2008-2009 3.0 . It says that fuel combined is 25,9 mpg which means 10.9 l/km is that true ?

Consider that touareg is heavy, it has permanent all wheel drive with an additional set of low range gears. Then big frontal area produces a lot of drag at high speed. That’s why acceleration isn’t aggressive. I don't think this thing is slow for his cathegory.

I don't know about you - I had one of these with a 2.5 TDI R5 engine and it sucked. It was super slow and the fuel consumption was always 11-13l per 100km of mixed driving. Urban driving... 15-20

R5 touareg is the worst one, V6 however is indcredible. Really reliable engine.

@@luidu07 the v6 3.0 tdi the v8 4.0 tdi the 5.0 v10 bitdi are those are awesome and reliable but the 2.5 tdi r5 have many problems like you say the worst engine from vw

Thats a seriously underpowered engine. Also its scary that there is no feel of speed and no engine sound.. you go with 180km/h and.. its like 110.
