THIS is how to make a video! Straight to the topic at hand. No one minute intro, no b.s. about your day. This should be the gold standard. As far as efficiency goes, a lot of current is consumed in simply switching the power MOSFET. This will get worse as the switching frequency goes up.

Nice video! Seems like you don't have many videos, it's a pity because you really covered all important aspects in a very short time, including the transient response which is a thing that many "professional" youtubers don't cover, also i've never crossed a video where that 494 pin 3 was properly explained i know that is for loop/phase compensation but seems like almost every one doesn't understand how to work with it, all and all excellent job! Btw i'm planning do something similar because i need voltage isolation with power up to ~250w...

I used to also experiment a lot with this PWM controller. I also used SG3525 for half bridge boost controllers. Great little versatile devices.

at least your are using switching circuits, i'm still on linear ones least i did was build a joule thief to drive a 90V neon from a 1.5 volt battery, planing to build a uc3843 based boost or low voltage smps, did you wind the ferrite yourself.

SMPS circuits are quite interesting and there's a lot of them to chose from, I hope the UC3843 works out. I wound the transformer in my previous video in case you want to check it out.

One switch forward converter is not energy efficient as halfbridge design that put the energy out just remember that any voltage higher the 50v and gate drivers transformer is required to isolate the transition of high spikes voltage on the gate driver ic and snubber circuit is always required on all switching components mosfet and inductor coil or your mosfets will get damaged and leaking spike on the gate
