For millennia, the evil Galra empire has plagued the universe by destroying other civilizations and enslaving various races. In the original Japanese version, the reason why Lotor was so obsessed with Princess Allura was because she reminded him of his Mother, who was a human woman from Arus that Zarkon executed for trying to protect the slaves of Planet Doom. The woman in Lotor's dreams is really his Mother.

In the Japanese version of this show, the first woman Lotor saw in his dream was really his mother. His dad murdered her after she pleaded with him to spare the lives of prisoners.

What should've happened is somebody should've told Keith, if you truly love her, kiss her! In every fairy tale I've ever read, its the guy who loves the girl the most who kisses her, and releaes her from a 'sleep spell'. Maybe it wouldn't have done any good, but at least he would have tried!

This would be the only episode that never had an enemy robot and did not show the Blue Lion. Also, this would be the third (or is it fourth? not sure) time that no Voltron combined robot is shown.

As someone, who is only getting into this series, Lotor may have been obsessed, but at least he is not entirely without compassion. He may bear the skin of his monstrous father, but underneath, he carries the Heart of his Arusian Mother.
