In this video I show you how to remove the waterfall console in a facelifted Volvo C30. This applies to interior facelifted volvo on this platform that includes the c30 , s40 , v50 etc.

Thank you Neptvne. The instruction for moving the console back to expose the waterfall screws was pivotal. Made my day! I was stuck on a project to replace the shift blind - but it's done now.

While the information you provided is extremely useful, for the disassembly of the waterfall. For that alone a well deserved thumbs up come up right away! 🙂 Although you totally confirmed the point of how to spoil a car in no time! Low quality tuning absolutely kills the value of a vehicle! In fact as a general rule of thumb the more "xuning" the lower the value. ;-) I've been there done that. Thankfully it's well behind me for decades. LOL 😂 😂 Cheers

Thanks for this video, it was quite helpful. When I did this I was stumped at first as the console would not move back for me. Then I realized it had no place to go as there was no room due to the rear seat. So I had to remove the rear part of the console, where the drink holders are and that freed enough rook for the front part of the console to move. From that point on it was pretty easy.

I wrapped my centre consol and the door handles in metallic navy blue wood grain and it looks great for doing it for the first time as well. I used one piece and a hestgun to make it easier to work with.

Also for right hand rive cars, twist the shift knob counter clockwise, top toward the passenger.

Awesome video I had to undo 3 bolts from the drink holder for dear passenger to allow me to move the unit back other than that it work well thanks

There are no plug and play units besides the blue power one… tho if you don’t mind doing some piggy backing you can cut some stuff on the waterfall and a small double din work properly, but you will still need to run the factory radio cause it controls like the gauges and AC system. You could also shove the old radio right behind the waterfall and keep it out of sight if you do decide to do that. I haven’t done this to my car yet but if I do I will make a video about it to maybe help out the Volvo guys who want an android/carplay radio

This is the same setup my 2013 C30 has. Can I just leave the waterfall console on to replace the radio?

yes you can , no need to remove it to replace the radio. unless you plan on updating the radio then you will need to remove it

I assume it's probably the same in a C70. I love the look of the waterfall but my biggest problem is it looks like brushed stainless steel but it's plastic. I want to try and dip all the plastic trim like window switches and the waterfall in epoxy. Like the stuff used for countertops. I think it will give it a nice look and won't sound like plastic if you tap it.

I’ve seen these plastidipped and they don’t look as good which is why I went the route of wrapping it. But I agree , Idk why Volvo didn’t use actual quality material instead of hard plastic

I know this is late, but is there anything stopping you from buying the metal ones from one of the other p1 volvos? Pretty sure r-design ones are all metal, at least they are in my C30

the video wasn't intended to be a showcase for my horrible wrap skills lol , the video was made to show how to remove the waterfall because at the time i made this video there were no other videos showing how you do it.

Wow, what the hell?! Why volvo makes what has to be very simple and 5 minute job max into at least an hour if not longer? Oh wait I know why - time is money. No matter how good European can be, they can also be just as bad when it comes to repairs or mods.
