Brilliant videos, you are keeping the Eos alive. I would love to see you demonstrate removing the sunroof and roof guides on the eos. Going to have a go at it in the next week or so as I have several other parts to replace. It would be great to have some guidance. Thanks

Maybe you can do a video how to lubricate roof mechanism, joints and other metal stuff? I can pop in with my car someday 😁

Glad I found this video. About a year ago I attempted to do something like this with the roof half opened. After getting out of the car I noticed the extending portion attached to the trunk lid "fall down" gracefully due to gravity... After attempting to close the roof of the car I was met with errors and have since not been able to use the convertible after manually closing the roof for good. Any tips... Is this a hydrolic pump issue? I have recently been directed towards a potentially failed limit switch.

First things first, before detailed cleaning a car wash should be prioritized

Great video, but I'm not confident doing this myself on my C70, can you indicate how much this would cost please ? I live in Northamptonshire, where are you based ?

I've got the same blue C70 ( 08 D5 SE Lux Auto ), Its had new rear suspension top mounts and bumpstops but the roof still rattles like a van. Just wish if you had that C70 available you could show how to access the roof pistons to check for tightness. I'm concerned I wold destroy the roof lining attempting to access them.

I’ve heard you should not stop/leave the C70 roof partially open as errors/failures can occur, not true? I also have to ask, why didn’t you wash the car prior to cleaning the seals? It’s filthy :-)

Fair comment, you can stop the roof provided it is at the point of lowest gravitational potential. Such that it is not relying on hydraulic pressure. Hence we turn the ignition off We are a cabriolet repair specialist, we do not valet vehicles 🤷🏽♂️😂

@@CabrioletTech I'm a little confused, in the video, you instructed to keep the ignition on when stopping the roof halfway. Totally not trying to call you out or anything, just curious, is it safer to stop the roof with ignition on or off? I have a 2012 and my roof is in great shape, and I am trying my hardest to keep it that way lol

@burnsy277 you should be fine to keep the roof in the halfway position even with the ignition off, however, people have made a good comment in that the ignition off stops power and could potentially cause the pump to lose tension in the hydraulic system. I've had mine half way with ignition off and on and these days I keep it idling. As they have explained very well in the video as long as you follow their instructions you should be grand.
