Volvo ECR235CL Loading Kenworth Dump Trucks [8-2-2016]

Here is a long video of the Volvo ECR235CL excavator loading their company's Kenworth T800 and T880 dump trucks. This might be a compilation video since 4 out of 6 total dump trucks were their Kenworths and the other two were contracted hauling companies.

Nice fleet of T800's and T880's. Cool looking frameless dumps. Matching paint scheme gives them a professional look. As for the way they are loading the trucks. One the material looks wet almost a clay look to it with rocks. It's going to be heavy. Two they may have to watch their bridge weight. Or maybe a local restriction on the city streets. Just throwing some thoughts out there. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah it's a challenge for the drivers. It's going to be interesting seeing how the Telehandler get to maneuver in the tight alleyway.

Don't usually see that 'grab' fitted on such small ex's, it's usually only used when demolishing wooden houses, and then it's usually on bigger machines, - I presume their must be a lot of that type of house in the neighbourhood.

why are you only filling those dump trailers half way?

Most likely weight distribution. Also the dirt is very wet and heavy, it will get stuck inside the dump bed if it's fully compacted.

william smith you load trucks by weight also. You see the driver telling the operator he's good on the weight? Some trucks have a scale inside the truck. I'm not being a wise ass but I'm sure you know that and we're just asking a question.

You could really do with some European 4x2 or 6x2 tractors getting in and out of there, and a tri-axle trailer with liftable front axle to make it a tandem for manoeuvring in tight spaces. Well done the drivers though for getting those 6x4's in there, I can't help noticing that the tractors are just about as long as the trailers! Looks like that stuff is some real heavy clay..no wonder they're not filling those trailers..

This is a special circumstance and is not very common to be this tight. Most utility guys I've seen just contract out to tandem axle dump trucks so space isn't an issue. That or they'd make a pile and use a skid steer or small loader to load the trucks.

that stuff looks as wet as hell, almost like clay. When you see a tipper truck with the body slightly raised when being loaded, it usually has a onboard weigher. I like the zero tail swing diggers, and I wish I lived in the US because their trucks are better looking than our british ones.

I drove asphalt dump for 28 years. We raised our boxes so the loader operator could see into it to distribute the load better. Common courtesy.

The over engine cabs in Europe are much better then the trucks you see here.

@@internetexpert8153 That's laughable. Cabovers are harder to work on and offer nothing else besides being able to navigate narrow or small spaces. It's not an issue in North and South America, Australia, Russia where you have a lot of open space.
