I hope I'll get by with two bottles, great vid. On my 2014 V70 the lines are routed a bit differently but the turn and return lines are the same on the reservoar. Kind of surprising the bottle doesnt have a filter element like most german ZF systems have. Especially when this isnt part of a regular service. Thank you for your time to make this for all of us Volvo guys :)

Thanks so much for this video. You are the only one of these KZfaq videos to show how to release the clip on the return line. I would have probably broken it getting it off without this video. Anyway I was able to replace the reservoir and flush the system ( no more whining water pump) on my 2008 S80. This is the quietest it’s been since I bought the car 7 months ago!

I followed your method with my 2007 S80 and it worked great. My pump had began to make a little noise and the fluid was brown. I especially liked that I was able to clean the reservoir and the filter with your instructions. The noise is now gone. I used Pentosin CHF202 fluid that I ordered from an eBay seller which is an equivalent. Thanks.

2015.5 XC60. Two little changes{ 1) like another guy, i just stuck the discharge hose into the adapter with a little tape and a rag for insurance, and 2), i also used about 3 ft of 3/8" hose on the return line connector and clamp it off (instead of the aluminum tape you used to plug it). At the end, let it hang down and drain the reservoir- no mess, no fuss. then, put your adapter back on and fill it up. Used less than two liters. Great video!! I am subscribing.

good video. I did same procedure on my 07 xc90. The feed line was difficult to remove so I left it on and simply cleaned out the inside of the reservoir with a clean rag using a screw driver to move it around. I wouldn't recommend brake cleaner as used here unless can indicates safe for plastic. I liter of Pentosin CHF 202 did the job.

Great video. Thanks. I leave my contribution. I just did this job in a V60, using Ford 1781003 steering mineral fluid, witch has the recomended specification. Much cheaper and easy to get. I didn't remove the return hose from the 90° quicke adapter. Instead I used a 10mm hard tube and engaged it on the adapter like the reservoir fits in it. The incorporated filter had in fact allot of debris!
@olew19832 жыл бұрын
How many liters get into the system in your case? I found that Febi 46161 is also a good replacement. It is cheaper than Ford 17811003 (all those fluids meet required WSS-M2C204-A2).
@CRBN742 жыл бұрын
@@olew1983 I fluxed it untill new clean was comming out. More than 1L, less than 2L. So I suggest you buy 2L.

Great video. I recommend making triple sure that the hose that you’ve connected to the return line is very very secure. Because if it’s not, when you start your car, you will have a power steering fluid volcano. Just sayin.

just flushed in my S80 2.5T 08'. my mistake after the flush: didn't arrange the hoses back the way they were in the beginning so I couldn't get the reservoir in place and I had to unplug the feeding line to get in place. didn't extract the fluid in the reservoir with turkey baster, tired to hold it with the finger, all of the new fluid in the reservoir spilled and made a mass. other than that it was successful, thanks for the video.

good method. For those who need the quick and dirty method; I just did it by attaching a length of 1/4" vinyl tubing to a thick plastic bottle (32 oz.) cap. (drill 1/8" hole in cap, soften with a match flame and push the tubing through, use tape if needed) Now when you squeeze the bottle you can hear it pushing and drawing air from the end of tube. stick end of tube in reservoir, hold bottle lower than reservoir, squeeze to start siphoning. refill. cap. start car and turn the wheel all the way left, right, etc. Repeat until you can see through the fluid easily. Then, of course, leave it full and drive it. Wash your hands before you start touching things and piss off your wife.

a little messier than I thought but done. took about 5 cycles to totally flush out the old PS fluid which was almost motor oil black. for the 08 models the PS reservoir isn't as easily accessible as video.....08 at least mine was in between air filter housing and engine block.....definitely get a good set of pliers to remove the spring clamp on pressure line. New fluid in no leaks and seems to run a lot better.

Great video. How many litres of fluid did you end up using? Judging by the old fluid in the gallon jug, it looks like just about 2 litres. Also, why does the back wheels to be jacked up? Shouldn't the front ones being elevated enough to do the job?

So yesterday, I've done my first "repair" on my xc70 based on Juri's videos. I was following all instructions and so far so good :). I have maybe few tips for novice, based on my experience :). Video at 2:49 where Juri disconected feed line. Make sure, you have proper pliers, because standard pliers are too small and water pump pliers are too big. I used water pump pliers, but it takes a lot of time for me. Cca 5:10 where Juri plugged return line. It's easier to plugged this return line before you connect back the feed pipe, and make sure it's plugged well. Mine start to leak during the flushing an old oil. And the last tip, time at 5:54, connect the 3/8 hose to return line - put back on the secure ring, to make sure the 3/8 hose don't come out during the flushing process, what happend to me. But my biggest problem was, how to serurely rise the car and put in on the stands. I never did it before, so I wasn't sure, where to locate the jack, because I want to put the stands on the spots, which is made for jack on the side of the chassis. Juri, this is my tip for your next video. How to securely rise the xc70II, which jack to use (I bought the standart jack and it's too small ) and mainly, show on the video exactly the places on the car chassis, where can be located the jack or stands and how to do it safely. Good luck everyone and Juri, thank you for a great job you doing.
