The P2 Volvo S60 was far more ground breaking and beautiful than the 2nd gen. My dad helped engineers the P2 S60 and it was said by most engineers to be the best Volvo.

@include2ooo This is also the obvious reason why the Americans like Volvo. It was owned by Ford, and Ford obviously wouldn't sell Volvo to a European company, but of course an Asian one. And to make things a million times worse, China. The Americans wouldn't like Volvo if it had been European. Everybody knows how the Americans think.

this looks like some hybrid Toyota stuff, this is not a Volvo. Volvo looks like Volvo until 2007 and there is a gap until 2020 or 2022 when indeed the cars look good again. In the middle is not a Volvo.I mean look at 740, or S60 built until 2007, they are from another class. What was in the movie was some kind of hatchback, can you imagine an S60 as a hatchback? Hmm.

Ford was the worst thing that ever happened to Volvo. They forced hard budget cuts, stole (or "rightfully" used) volvos technology and tried to outsource and compete against Volvo in the same areas as Volvo had. Geely however has pumped in money into Volvo and wont allow it to crash and burn like GM did to Saab. Volvo is, and always will be, at the head of car safety. Geely will never change that part.
