What's up guys!? I hope everyone is having a great day and is safe wherever you are in the world! Long time since I made an upload but here you go! Watch it now ;)
(UPDATE/REVIEW TYPE VIDEO/SOME CAR WASH AND VEHICLE CONTENT)
In today's video, we are back with the 2018 Volvo XC90!! This video, I’m finally more comfortable behind the camera than the video we made a couple years ago on the XC90. Crazy how time flies. Feels like we just got this thing! 80,000km already? Anyways, it's been a great vehicle to own, and we've been very happy with it, besides a few cosmetic things to note! Watch this video to see what the ownership experience has brought along for yourself! :)
Make sure you are also subscribed to the channel and have post notifications turned on so you don't miss out on anything! That being said, thank you guys for all the love and support and I'll catch you all in the next one! ;)

I always fill my XC90 at Costco. Difference between regular and premium gas is only 10-11 cents. Love my Volvo, it's the most comfortable vehicle I've ever driven.

I’ve owned by 2017 xc90 and first 5 years were great. Now it’s been nothing but problems. 4k ac repair for a bad evaporator, 1500 for a check engine light and it’s still not solved.

Looking into purchasing a used 2018 XC90. I am so afraid. But coming from a turbo BMW X5, couldn't be too much more in maintenance. Very Informative. Thanks.

The XC90 has been amazing with our 4 years ownership. Also have a BMW 5 series sedan so when comparing quality between BMW and Volvo, they are very similar and well made. Can't complain! Maintenance has been a breeze with ours besides the odd little thing warranty covered. I've seen some with upwards of 300,000km on the Odo with this generation. As long as you have access to service records and can see it's been taken care of, you should have nothing to worry about!! Best of luck with your purchase if you decide to go VOLVO route!

Thanks for the details... Planning to buy a 2016 T8 PHEV, mileage less than 70K miles- would like to know about your insights on maintenance ? And what to watch out for?

Anytime! Glad the video could help you! After 4 years of ownership, there is absolutely nothing I would watch out for maintenance besides frequent oil changes! I have always run Castrol 5W-30 FULL SYNTHETIC euro. Volvo recommends oil changes every 16,000km with I believe is approx 10,000 miles. I've always done them approximately between 10k and 12k km. Ours is the T6 so a little different as you have the hybrid which will definitely be great with these gas prices. Besides changing the oil, I'd keep the engine air filter clean, and that's about it. I'm planning to change the spark plugs out sometime soon, not that they are bad or anything - but I just like to take care of things before they become a possible problem. 70k miles is nothing!! These things are amazing for reliability. I've seen some with well over 200k miles online and they look to be in great shape! Always let me know if you have any questions. Have a good one!

Hi there! Great video, I'm about to buy a 2018 R design XC90 with around 80km on the clock, the car is a certified pre owned by volvo (price aroind 48000 cad). My main and only concern is about the maintenance costs (labour/ parts etc). What do you recommend?

Hi Nima! Thanks for your comment! Glad you enjoyed the video! I wouldn't worry about mileage. If it's been properly maintained as per car fax service records I wouldn't worry. All I would look for is regular oil changes as per manufacturer km interval recommendations which is 16,000km using full synthetic oil (Castrol 5W-30 SYNTHETIC) is what I've always used. That's a good price! I've always loved the R-design. Don't worry too much about maintenance costs, mine has 100,000km on it now and all it's needed is regular oil changes, nothing serious. And parts cost aren't bad either. You don't have to buy directly from Volvo, aftermarkets fine too! Lots of online sites with great parts. Best of 🤞 luck with your purchase! Let me know if you have any other questions

Hey @lifeonautos8206 Bud.. really an informative video for someone planning to buy a Volvo XC90.. liked & also Subscribed to your channel.. I m planning to buy a used 2018 T6 Inscription, it has 139K Kms & has been VERY regularly serviced at Volvo dealership.. Would like to take your valuable suggestions on further reliability of this already 139K driven vehicle.. would it be a Fuss free ownership maintenance wise ? & the extended Volvo warranty expires next year July, so I am worried of XC90 reliability beyond warranty expiry since I might clock 150K+ Kms by then.. I m also worried about the timing belt replacement costs & Brake Rotors, pads costs as that would also be due. Pls help with your suggestions basis your long term ownership experiences.

Hey Jaipal! Greatly appreciate the comment and support! Our XC90 has 130k km’s on it right now with a 3000km road trip planned for this summer. I’ve just kept up with oil changes every 10,000km now that I do it myself and that it’s out of warranty. I wouldn’t be concerned with the mileage, especially with the fact that you have service records! I would say go for it! The only thing I’ve needed done recently is the accessory battery up front under the hood which powers the auto start stop system. very minor thing. Besides that I did spark plugs last year myself as it was a very easy job and wanted peace of mind. If it helps, I’ve actually seen a 2016 XC90 t6 with 365k km on autotrader a few years back. It goes to show that if you take care of it, it will take care of you in return. I’d take the XC90 any day over a BMW/audi SUV. There seems to be less Volvos on the road and in my opinion it’s one of the best looking SUV’s on the market today. The body-style doesn’t seem to age!

About to pull the trigger on a 2021 model xc90 T6. Any suggestion what to watch out for?

Awesome! Only things to watch out for I can suggest is a bubbling dash above where the airbag would come out. We actually had ours replaced under warranty by Volvo Canada. the bubble continued to get bigger. One thing I have not been completely flipped on is the navigation system. I find it gives directions too late and isn't always accurate. That's why I plug into Android Auto port and use Google maps. That works much, much better! Other than that the vehicle has been amazing! Currently on a 2500km road trip in Quebec with it right now and couldn't ask for anything more. If you ever have any other questions let me know And I'll try my best to answer them! 😀

Just keep your service records up to date with frequent oil, air filter, oil filter changes and it should be good for many years to come!!

@@lifeonautos8206 Thanks for the reply. Im meticulous about following the service schedule but I cant do my oil change because I don't have the tool or space. Regarding the dash board bubbling up, its not unique. My previous range rover sport has the same issue 5 years into ownership and the headliner also start to bubble and eventually peeled of. I notice it happen after I park it outside a lot, in the sun. So keep that in mind.
