I did not do this because you should not do this on a bike with the start / stop switch pod that is part of the throttle assembly like the stock throttle on this GSXR 1000. If you cut the tab off on the throttle they will end up rotating on the tube which is not great. If you have a throttle like the Motion Pro REV2 that does not have a locating tab that clamps on the bar there is no need to drill. If I were not doing this as an install video I would (on my own bike) grind off the tab on the clutch side switch pod and not drill the bar. On the throttle side I would still drill a hole if I was running a stock throttle with an integrated switch pod. All that said if the bars do not need to be drilled it makes replacing the bar easier to do for sure. Thanks for contributing! - Brian Van

This bike is a tough one to install risers on without running into clearance issues. I would recommend using the measurement chart for riser clip ons in this link: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/product_images/product_pdf/Woodcraft-How-To-Measure-for-Riser-Clip-on.pdf If you decide to install a set on your bike this is a project, not some super easy direct fit bolt on. We offer the Apex Adjustable Riser Clips Ons that have adjustable rise. With these you can install them and work to get the maximum rise before running into clearance issues. There is a locator pin built into the switch pod that needs to have a hole to slide into when you tighten the screws up. - Van

For the GSXR750 you will need 50mm clip ons. I would go with the 7 degree kit, this is the most natural angle IMO and the most commonly used. Installing these on the 750 you should not have any issues with the windscreen or bodywork. - Van

If you remove the plug on the end of the clip on tube you will find a hollow tube. If you want to use a lever protector there are several styles available which will install into the hollow end of the bar. @@sportbiketrackgear the cloth that comes with an expensive pair of glasses it’s nice an thin, then it don’t get that glue from the foil tape an the triple tree nut is protected from the wrench 🔧 I’ve got an 03 1000 and I just put the same pair of clip ons on my bike with a pair of folding clutch and break leavers. You can install a standard set of clip ons without any issues (no riser or zero offset). - Van

These include plastic bar ends (like most other aftermarket clip ons) that we installed into the tubes. If you prefer you could leave them out and install a set of bar ends like the Driven we had on the OEM clip ons or a set of Vortex. - Van

No you do not need to remove it. We were doing a couple projects at one time which is why I removed the bodywork on my bike. The Woodcraft keyswitch eliminator was the other part we were doing at the same time that requires removal of the bodywork. - Van
