Have you ever seen a cheetah? Its a large hand held tank with a large dump on the side. Its used in automotive shops to seat beads on tires. 120-150psi. I was fucking around with it when I was bored. I had a steel table with tools ,bottles of oil, coolant, and all kinds of stuff on it. I aimed and expected all the stuff on the table to go flying off, well, everything and the table went flying away.Made one hell of a mess. Everyone watching said the look on my face was priceless.

Would be cool if they showed off the vortex properties somehow, like a wall where plungers are loosely inserted in small holes and the ones caught by the blast would be pushed inwards while the ones in the center would remain in place.

Another is the effect of sound on the material, and the pressure and decomposition of the air produced by the combustion - gas explosion, as a consequence of gas production in detonation. For example, if there was a gas supply and burning it would simply become a turpine like airplanes, promotion.

Acetylene in large quantities is pretty scary, I am always worried about a DDT as the flame front compresses the mixture in front of it - but so far I've never seen it happen. 150 litres though, that has a certain pucker factor! What pressure is the nozzle designed to expand down to atmosphere? I am guessing the nozzle is a bit over-expanded which is why the ring is visible inside the mouth at all.
@jemstansfield4 жыл бұрын
That's our guess too. The cone length was a bit of guesswork. More time and we would have been able to refine it.

hi jem nice vid but here is a thought for you how about you give the cannon a hho cell from inside the chamber you can then split the h2o(water) to h2/o giving you a perfect mix and is safer than storing gas on site all you need to do then is work out how much water and time to split it before ignition

@dpcoronado6 жыл бұрын
LaserGadgets That velocity and pressure inside something that's getting SMALLER would cause break the cannon because the pressure couldn't leave fast enough. Something's gotta give
@vk2zay6 жыл бұрын
Because that would cause a static shock to form at the transition to atmospheric pressure that would disrupt the gas flow and prevent vortex formation. This is the same reason why his prototype needed a short barrel to function at all. The flared barrel is a kind of impedance match, like a rocket nozzle it expands the high pressure gas down to ambient and lets its potential energy be converted into smooth high velocity flow.
@drd19245 жыл бұрын
you need prefamulated amulite to compress an already compressed shock wave...it's like trying to heat already heated steam into super heated steam. Or trying to accelerate a nuclear exlosion into a supernuclear explosion. Amulite my friend. But it takes quite a process to prefamulate it. I mean you can buy Uranium at Walmart all day long....but to enrich it? well ...ya see what I mean?

Thanks for your comment. They ring generated does not contain so much force, and i doubt if it would knock the lower bricks over. The produced rings had a habit of wanting to hug the ground. So we had to aim slightly high because of that as well.
