I bought the Vortex Tab 90, since the 90M was out of stock at the time. 3 big differences I've noticed with the VSA keycaps are: 1) they seem to have a slightly wider surface to type on, 2) they have homing bars vs the deep dish of the DSA keycaps, and 3) double shot vs dye sublimated. I like my Tab 90 very much, but wish I had gotten the 90M due to the keycap differences. Bluetooth isn't a big concern for me, since I'm using this keyboard primarily at home. It's taken some time for me to get used to deep dish homing caps, but I'm starting to get better at locating them without having to look down at the keyboard. Bars would have been much nicer, though.

Great video! Bought this keyboard based on your review. I have a question though: after switching the keys are the new colourful keys slightly raised above the default/grey ones for you? The new ones for me are about 1mm higher than the default ones.

Thanks! Ye I really like it. Be sure to push the modifier keys in slightly harder as the joints are slightly tight out of the box (ultimately causing the keys to pop out slightly if it isn't pushed in hard enough).

Could someone answer this odd question for me. I'm looking at getting the Tab 75 or the Tab 90m. I wanted the Tab75 as I have no interest in the numpad. My issue though, is when I look at the dimensions of the Tab 75 it says that it is 2.04 inches tall. When I look at the Tab 90m it says that it is 1.38 inches tall. I just wanted to confirm that these 2 keyboards do in fact have a different height as I feel that the Tab 75 2.04inch height is too much of an incline for me. If the Tab 90m does in fact only have a max height of 1.38 inches then I will be going with the 90m. Please let me know if anyone has any idea. Thanks.

Because I love my Pok3r, I just purchased a Vortex Tab 90M. I’m using it with my Mac Pro desktop and my MacBook Pro. When the keyboard is in Mac mode, the F-keys do not function as they should - F1 types F14; F2 types F15. The rest of the F-keys type nothing at all. (I have the F-keys mapped to various commands in another app, which is how I know what they type.)The Scroll Lock, Numbers Lock, INS, Pause, and Calc keys don’t do anything - am I missing the point of including these keys? The F-keys do function as expected (giving you typical Mac F-key commands) when holding down the Fn key, and also work properly when the keyboard is in Windows mode. Also, there is no Caps Lock light, which I find disappointing, though there is a light below the Caps Lock key when editing. And the layer indicator lights below the space bar are so dim as to be nonexistent. Do you have the same problems when your keyboard is in Mac Mode?

The website did not say this keyboard is VIKI type... I didn't know that. Too gamey for me! I love the layout though. Perhaps VIKI type keys only for Tab 90M..??

Hi! Very tempting keyboard, but I totally need two Meta (Windows) keys. Is there a possibility to move the Fn function to another key and to make the Fn key a 2nd Meta key? Is the keyboard somehow programmable?

Yeah, the “SYS” key on the left side of the space bar, I know. But I need another one at the right side of the space bar. That’s my problem. I need two of them because I’m using a tiling window manager (Awesome WM) so I require this key all the time to control my windows. At the same time, I don't want to loose the 2nd Ctrl key either.

No I don't think it's programmable to achieve what you want. There are some specific functions that you can find on their manual (which is available online) but I don't recall seeing what you need.

Their online-configurator seems to allow that, but I don’t have a clue if that would really work. Their complete website is a bit not-so-trustworthy. I will further try to discover that…

Planning to purchase this. Is its keycap sizes standard? I plan to replace the keycaps of this board with OEM keycaps.

@Ghee Tayag yes they will fit. I'm assuming when you reference "standard" you mean the popular cherry mx stem which looks like a "cross". If your OEM keycaps have that cross then you should be able to fit it. But it'll feel different from the default since OEMs are taller and shaped differently from VSA/DSA.

I've heard this keyboard only has 6-key rollover, but in specs it says all key rollover, could you possibly clarify for me which it is on yours?

I think I saw somewhere that the 6 key rollover is on the Tab 90 connected via Bluetooth. I’m not sure about the Tab 90m via USB-C.

So many challenges to your question: budget friendly but a mechanical keyboard / compact but with a numpad.. Tbh I think this board is exactly what you're asking for. There might come cheaper numpad boards that are equally compact, but then they will have to have lower quality keycaps.

I've just spent the better part of a day looking around and this is the best you're gonna get, unless you want to do a little assembly with a kit. Then you might find some value with a YMDK96 or similar.

Can the case be disassembled for switch replacement and general maintenance?

Hey, the keycaps are removable (of course) but you cannot replace the switch (i.e. it is not "hot-swappable"). I don't think you can disassemble the case either. What you CAN do is to remove the keycaps and do your general maintenance that way.

Ye unfortunately the rubber feet don't look like they are meant to be detached from the case - so there may be something underneath, but that would also mean having to figure an artificial way to get those rubber feet reattached after. I didn't notice the screws under the keycaps when I replaced those few modifier keys - but I'll check some other spots and get back to you 😊

Vortex ViBE does have arrow keys, just disable numlock and the bottom of the number pad becomes your arrow keys (and more, see the user manual). www.vortexgear.tw/vortex3.asp

@@blkthorne101afx given they play an MMO with arrow keys I'm going to assume they might be using the numpad as well, but yeah I feel like the vibe's biggest selling point as "TKL but better" is way overlooked since the keys aren't explicitly labeled

that keyboard is a different layout that is missing some of the keys from the middle of a normal keyboard
