Thank you! Vostok - is the best! Respect from Russia! Many interesting technical solutions are used in this watch (if you are interested, see my review in Russian). Sometimes the quality is not the best. But it mostly refers to the build quality. For example, before using in water, it is sometimes necessary to check that the back cover is fully screwed on. At this price, there is no other fully manufactured watch with its glorious history and original designs on the world market!

I wish someone would make a click spring modification for all Vostok cases rather than just the 090 which is probably my least favourite case... if anyone knows of such a modification please let me know 👍🏻 Good vid 👍🏻

Just did my swap. Very pleased with the result. Quality case/crystal. No more buffing out scratches! Word of advice for the not so experienced swapping vostok movements. The stem might not go in all the way by pushing in the crown alone. You might need to use some tiny tipped tweezers or something small enough to catch on a little lip on the stem to push it in that last half mm for it to lock into place. It took me at least an hr to figure this out.

@@watchmewithwatches just got my blue scuba dude Favinov dial and hands. Brushed my case and got a signed crown and black 1-20 minute increments lume bezel case is 710. The tension ring is steel and there is no accidental turning of the bidirectional bezel

Great video Dan. I have three vostoks including the teal scuba dude dial, and have modded them all. Would definitely like to give this mod a go. I doubt it will be as simple as you made it look though lol.

Modding Vostoc is easy. They are designed for the hobbyist. My problem is that I like the original design. Vostoc is a cheap watch, nice looking and very functional. I bought my first vostoc because I liked the designs and the price. The mod you just did is awesome, however now you have a much more expensive watch. The decision that has to be made is does the price tag justify what you are gaining with this mod? Maybe.

great video, straight forward and great outcome (looking like a more expensive watch). I don|t know how I feel about the upgrade case and sapphire though. In fact only the bezel-click is tempting. the acryllic somehow fits the original. And the case costing more, than the original watch - weird... thing is: using mostly the movement (wich isn't great to be honest) one might be better off, building a full-custom-kit from ali-ex with a seiko movement. the bezel from 'one second closer' is great, got parts from them myself. maybe next time also upgrade the hands? it isn't that hard and will improve the style.

Great vid & case kit. Love vostoks. Some say you should move crown to the time setting position before depressing the plunger and removing crown, or the crown might not go back in easily. It happened to me. I Don't know what position it was in when I removed mine but I had to use tweezers to push the crown stem in to the movement to get it to re-engage (learned from another KZfaq vid)

You can't just put a sapphire crystal into a watch case that is ment for acrylic so this new case is the way to go if you want a sapphire Vostok. The one thing I didn't like about my 3 Vostoks is how easy it is to scuff and scratch the acrylic crystal so this new case is a good idea and the skx bezel is a bonus.

5:58 Often with these kinds of sliding contacts, it's better to grease the full track instead of the interface surface of the ratchet. This as the contact point rubs clean very quickly, leading to no actual improvement. A very tactile way of confirming this concept is with trackball mice, where greasing the three bearing balls does pretty much nothing. This while greasing the ball instantly and with skin oils refilling it permanently smoothens the feel.

The watch looks great but I think spending that much on a vostok kind of takes away the point of it. I would be more inclined to just buy an extra case and try and mod it myself.

It's nice and all that the new case has been tested to 350 meters but the Vostok with it's acrylic glass can go to almost 800 meters

Man, if only they made a different case style I might get one. I have small wrists so I modded my Amphibias to have manual movements and slimmer case backs. That case style there is just too big for me unfortunately.

Amazing mod! I've been putting off modding my Komandirskie for well over a year now as the corner stone of my project - a smooth bezel - has been out of stock the entire time on meranom. It's the same story for a cusion case and I can't seem to find them anywhere else either. Any recommendations on where I could find them will be extremely appreciated.

I have a 420 that I had for the past 15 years. I only changed the bezel and insert. It's a cheap mod that transforms this watch and make it look better. I'm not sure about going all the way and changing the case and glass. The untouched vostok will be waterproof over 3x its rated depth and event hough I will never dive to 700m I like the idea that my vostok can.

Hello, nice video! Me and my friend are vostok fans and want this mod :P unfortunately we are using k-35 model, and it is in written in the case description that I would need a longer stem to fit in the case, do they mean precisely - 090 stem?

Just bought a couple of waffle finish dials from Namoki, blue (with blue lightning second hand) and silver. Super quality and delivery. But £99 for an Amphibia Scuba Dude watch? Surely cheaper new from Meranom, even cheaper factory direct (got me Amphibia Scuba with internal bezel from there)

Very nice mod !! Perhaps I have information overload here. How do you determine that the bezel insert is the correct size to fit the bezel ? Perhaps what I am missing here are the specs of the bezel and insert to be sure they are compatible ?

Hi, the bezel insert i purchased is meant for any skx007 bezel. The bezel i bought for this kit is for a seiko skx007.

Lol, it's actually better. Lighter, but still has a similar soft click rather than a hard snappy click like on a san martin for example.

I have successfully transplanted a 28.5mm seiko dial with dial dots to a vostok amphibia. Hope this helps!

I agree, also really like the 420, but if a kit was like this one, the sxk007 bezels would look too bulky. The bigger vostok cases suit a chunky bezel. 😍

Possibly. But I would still trust this in most wet situations I would put it through! It's got lots of seals in there.

Its not always about the cost, its about the benefits a bespoke product can offer. This is something that appeals to someone wanting a very good upgrade for their beloved watch!
