His skills alone are worthy of the utmost respect but the thing that I admire most is that the moment he gets the win his first instinct is to check on his opponent. While others would run around the ring and bask in the cheers of the crowd while beatimg their chest like king kong, Mikey wants to make sure his opponent isn't hurt. That makes him the GOAT in my book.

The thing a lot of people should take extreme notice with this kid, is that he's not just as described, but also his humbleness goes so far as to ensure no pressure is put on the limb he "collects" by his opponents. You'll notice numerous times when he does a heel lock, or leg lock, that he always elevates that leg to ensure it has a moment to rehab immediately.

Its a testament to mikey the quality of men hes facing as competition. I cannot imagine tearing someone's ACL, MCL, Meniscus and breaking their ankle only for the opponent to ignore the insane amount of pain and soldier on in a bid to come back. That type of shit is just unhear of to me in most competitive scenarios. Not many athletes in all of history would push through injuries as severe as that mid-match. Huge respect for him there.

generally the heelhooks are quite unique where you feel no pain just intense pressure (armbars shoulder lock etc hurt before injury) then BANG you feel a massive jolt of pain (this is where people tap including myself once but its usually too late acl broke or something was very damaged).. then after that jolt you feel ok. youll try to keep rolling if your in class, but your knee feels crazy unstable ,,, within 5 min or so the true horror sets in as your knee swells up to a grapefruit and intense pain joins unstability. after then you won't be able to walk without nearly screaming in pain for weeks..... so if his opponent endured the jolt of pain i can see how he finished without too much pain. guys like don fyre, leandro lo , miyao bro, vinny magahlas etc have endured knee breaks from identical moves..... with all that said he didn't just endure a knee break lol. he ankle broke as well so im sure if he felt multiple shocks of severe pain which is nuts. only the don frye incident is comparable ( 2 heelhooks on both legs), he somehow walked post fight

My advice is train with people who you trust and TAP TO PRESSURE. Before my knee popped in a very unique ankle lock I felt immense pressure. The only reason i didn’t tap was my student who I willingly let entangle me for practice didn’t have a heel hook. It was the extreme reap and triangle grip with twisting hips along with a straight ankle grip.. in truth i didn’t see it as a legit heelhook threat so I arrogantly thought I’m not tapping to improper movements but my knee popped so loud I had to tap.. talking to Ryan hall post adcc 2005 where he broke gordohinos leg in a alternate match he told me the triangle grip alone in the right spot is a twisting knee locks…so I was embarrassed with my cocky attitude as a brown belt

Taking the bait here. BJJ is viable in a fight because of physics. When on the ground a person cannot punch or kick you with all of their strength. It takes the violence out of the fight. Hence the gentle art. From there isolate a weak point and apply pressure. Pulling guard right away, ya you will get hit and kick in let’s and arms but you can also tangle up a lazy foot and then the attacker will wish there was a referee to call the fight

@@dellwright1407 I second that, but would also caution to the OP to keep in mind that M.M. has been doing this stuff since age 4 and with a real passion/obsession. That's a big part of why he is so, so good.

this is absolutely not practical in real fight. Example with the big guy.. in a real fight that big guy would bounded his head into nothing .-.--- lol dropping down in front of your opponent what kind of stupid fighting style is that :D This nonsense will end up like Wing Chun

@@tanelviil9149 Grapplers dont fight in Boxing Tournaments. Just like high divers arent trying to beat Michael Phelps in the freestroke.... Socalled "Real Fights" arent anything like ANY ringed professional fight whether boxing, jujitsu or anything.. Real fights usually involve ridiculous shoving, knives and many strikes that are banned in professional combat sports like eye gouging, crotch strikes, punching the throat, kicking in the face while a person is down... etc...

Great Dialogue as usual, great to see some nerds competing and excelling in a rugged combat sport. Apart from the odd exploded joint or broken leg I think Grappling is a much better sport then MMA in as far as technical competence, and long term damage, as in MMA, Kick boxing etc the Brain is horrendously battered, we are going to see the consequences over the next 2-3 decades just as has been seen in Pro-American football.

He is a machine. An athlete at a level only the world's elete work in. With a person that good he can't teach what he knows because his mouth can't speak what his brain is covering. When he is in there rolling around he is processing so many things all at the same time he couldn't possibly be able to relay that to a person verbally. That level comes from being in that behavior over and over again and analyzing every move as it happens so many times he is doing so easy it's like walking to pee on the middle of the night. It's automatic for him and he does it without any effort at all. He is maybe the world's best. I would like to see him work with Bo or Gordon
