@@edwingrove1442 May be because it could make America's current situation even worse. May be there is some controversial material in there like there in Vox Borders India series (You won't know how controversial it is unless you are from there). In US, we are already more divided than ever so may be Vox just doesn't want to make things worse. One thing for sure, they invested quite a bit of money in it and corporations don't let investments go that easily unless there a real good reason behind it. If it is saleable, why won't they publish it themselves?

It's the opposite for me, Vox led me to discover Borders. I'm actually a conservative so it was pretty hard for me to watch Vox but I did it anyways because either of boredom or wanting to know other opinions. I'd say Borders was the only good thing Vox had which wasn't really that politically driven.

This is sad to hear. I remember speaking to Johnny on twitter about a passion project of my own on the Southern Border here in Arizona. When I recommended his work, I found myself being attacked by both sides. I wasn't Conservative enough. I was a Conservative who had no right appreciating story telling or real journalism. I almost gave up. I've always believed political philosophy has no place in transparent journalism. I digress, my work also got put on hold moving into 2020. I recently fought the producers over rights to everything I've shot thus far, and I won. Not sure where I go from here with no budget to finish the original vision, but the journey was well worth it. Wish you nothing but the best in your career my guy.

It's honestly the one I looked forward to the most when it came to new episodes, so I am pretty disappointed that it's been canned despite the new US edition being practically done. Given the circumstances happening in the US right now, I can definitely understand the reasoning behind shelving it but I would be lying if I said I wasn't crushed about it. Borders made me realise that there's more to the story than what we hear from our media after watching india and srilanka episode. Basically being a Tamil, I hate srilankan navy for all the killings and atrocities on our fishermen. But having learnt abt the real reason and the hardships our fellow Tamils go through on the other side of the border made me realise how one sided journalism and politicians our country have. Thanks to you, I've learnt so many through the series, though the borders is cancelled, I believe greater things are coming through ur channel. ❤️

Indian media is the worst bro...Indians complain about CNN and BBC being biased but Indian media outlets like Republic TV, Wion, Zee News, OPIndia are far worst. They incite and inspire hatred, violence, communalism and polarisation of society. Most Indian outlets have been sold out to politicians with their extremist ideologies. They always focus on religion, Pakistan, China, oppositions parties and topics that don't matter. For example, most Indians don't actually know about the condition of Kashmir with the Internet ban etc, most Indians didn't know about the Chinese occupying parts of Ladakh and no one seems to compare about the crashing economy. Instead they waste their time on bollywood celebrities, picking stars like Kangana Ranaut as their political spokesperson. Freedom of Press and Speech in India has deeply worsend. Anyone questioning the government will be shouted down immediately. We need to improve before we get state run media like China.

Yes, let's just hate the Sri Lankan navy because you're Tamil. Let's ignore the fact that Indian fishermen act like our maritime borders don't exist, and that the vast majority of actions taken by our navy result in arrest and detention. Not death. And saying that you can now empathise because the people suffering in Sri Lanka are Tamil is just plain racism. It's new to see racism so boldly and unapologetically stated in the twenty first century. What if those fishermen in Sri Lanka were Sinhalese? Or Muslim? Would Indian fishermen destroying our fishing stocks be completely alright then? You talk about the pros of independent media without actually being a half decent person. I.e. not racist. It's a shame really, but then again, one can't expect much more when we had Tamil Nadu's chief minister donating to an extremist secessionist group that committed terrorism for fun every other Tuesday. Where was the outcry then? Nowhere.

When on door closes, another one opens! Johnny, someone in the comments said: "Although many of us came from Borders, I think we can all agree that we stayed for Johnny Harris." I loved this comment, liked it and felt like it said how I felt. But not short after I heard you talk about your love sharing stories about how the world works, this hit close to home! My wife is expecting and I can't wait to share what I know about the world already, but I am even more looking forward to the things he/she will teach me about the world. YOU are one of the reasons I sit at our big family dinner tables and talk about travelling, borders, breakfast routines worldwide, how to take a picture of a galaxy etc. You enrich so many peoples lives with your stories. 500k is just a number, later 1 million will be just a number. But each and everyone of these numbers is a person you connect to in a very special and beautiful way! I came from borders, but I will damn sure stay for you, for Iz and your boys! And I am very sure, watching the new "Johnny Video" about whatever it will be, will be one of the things I will enjoy sharing with my child. I am stoked for what is about to come and you can be sure, I am definetly not the only one! Much love from Germany (interesting border stories by the way! Vox Borders was incredible and still is. I shared those stories with everyone I know on social media and even at work I will play those videos. Boarders for me was more than a video, the people behind it did boarders an incredible story, always biased, focus on the people and the complexity of the reality. Not gonna lie, I dreamed about a boarders season on Central America or even some countries on Africa. I saw the whole video hoping that the title was click bait (knowing very well that Johnny Harris is not that type of youtuber) but it's actually pretty tough to hear that Borders is cancelled. I have so much to thank that series for, it made me notice that I had a huge and somewhat unexplored passion for geopolitics, and it made me realize how beautiful and complex our world is and how many incredible stories hide in the most amazing of places. I am particularly upset because I am Mexican and I couldn't wait to hear what you had to say about our shared border, the fact that it won't be released is heartbreaking. I don't understand why they decided to not air the last season, the BLM movement definitely needs and deserves everyone's attention, but I don't understand why both things can't exist at the same time (specially for the global reach Borders has) or even inform one another? and why they decided to cancel the series instead of postponing post production while they handle other pressing matters? :( I don't want your work sitting in a hard drive!!!!

This feels like censorship. I could understand if they hadn't filmed a 5th season and with budget cuts, due to Covid, decided to cancel a big expenditure of a show. But with it all filmed, how can they justify not putting the end product out? I can't imagine Johnny made anything that was anti civil rights or anti-mask or played up conspiracy theories as facts. Is it really too costly to edit footage already filmed, when they are editing and putting out other videos on a regular basis? Also pretty sad it seems Johnny will no longer be working with Vox.

I feel your pain. I've been a press photographer for 5 years. I got to see Tom Cruise doing stunts on the MI set, photograph Mike Pence arrive in the UK. Then there was the music festivals and 100s of other events. All in all I've covered 2000 stories. Now its all gone. No festivals, no film sets, no diplomatic visits. The switch was turned off with Covids arrival. We (creators) can only use what skills we've learned and contacts we've made to move on and create. Thanks for the Boarders stories and look forward to seeing your new content👊

The Cuba series is perhaps my favorite set of videos on KZfaq. I've recommended to many people. I was excited in 2017 when Borders became an official series and I waited in anticipation as you traveled country after country, educated about century-long history, and wowed us with marvelous drone shots. I was excited about the Emmy. I am sad to see it go, but I am so happy that it exists, that we were able to glance into the great mind of Johnny Harris. Amazing things to come (trust me)!

I came to borders from the Haitian merchant stories that gave me my first look at my motherland and I’m so grateful for the respect and honesty put into telling their stories without bias. I’ve loved every story I’ve seen since and it’s sad to see it go. There really is a market for telling untold stories like these and I just wish we had to capital to survive 2020

This is Johnny’s high - traveling. And, through the series and travels, it has helped me a lot for the AP world history exam. I can’t thank you enough for what you’ve done. The history behind each of the border series’s video really helped with outside context required on the APWH exam. And as I move into my junior year for AP US history I hope your channel/series will continue to grow in support and thus help students like me.
