Hey, it's been a while!
That's because I've been learning C++ and the new Unreal Engine 5.1!
The entire VR system I've shown in previous videos has been scrapped and I'm rebuilding it from the ground up in C++, taking a lot of time to revise and improve it along the way.
The fullbody system is much more streamlined now, and I'm excited to continue my work.
Thank you for all the comments on previous videos, they've been an amazing source of motivation and I'm so happy to see other people interested in this system!
UNREAL 5.1
5.1 offers a ton of great features for VR, and paired with programming, I've been hard at work exploring all the options this combo gives!
- Nanite and Lumen for VR (works in a hacky sort of way)
- Much improved physics (there is no grab logic in this video, just pure collision goodness!)
- Fleshed out control rigs with tons of new features
FUTURE
This is a short snippet - I'm uploading a longer clip soon once I've completed the grab mechanic and figured out the 5.1 enhanced input system.
