I get a black strap between my ground and hdri. How can i correct that? great work!

thank you for your video. With these settings my light tends to be yellow... and when I want to represent the architecture in the first hours of the day is not the maximum. How to correct this yellow effect? I am becoming crazy (the Dome has a very light-bluish effect). It is the sun to give that effect but I don't know how to correct that

Is it possible to just use the HDRI for lighting without Rhino sun? I tried but the shadows seem way too soft :/

Hey Jason, thanks for clarifying so many things in this video :) a quick question, I have Rhino 5 and V-ray 3.4. When adding Dome Light, I only get a sun icon and not the arrow. I was wondering how could I make all the adjustments you did, not seeing where the sun is pointing. Is there a way to change the sun icon to an arrow? or another way to have more control while matching dome light and HDRI?

Did you turn off the shadows for the hdri? because i am getting shadows from both the hdri and the sun, in opposite of what you said in the video. besides that, awesome video, thanks!

actually it seems like some of them are making shadows while others do not, even though they were in the same "set" - any idea bout that?

do you always iluminate your scene with sun and hdri? if so, what about the enviroment tab? do you activate it? if so, what texture do you put in

I've tried it both ways, but have found that the sun/hdri method works best and is easiest to adjust.

hey jason, thanks for the video. What's the process if i'm rendering a yatch in the middle of the ocean amd i don't want the trees and ground to appear? i can only find hdri with ground and i can't find just the sky with clouds. Thanks!

You can open any HDRI in photoshop and simply crop out the ground. Hope this helps.

in the environment I don't have "back" button (to apply sky), why??

What version of Vray are you using? I use the Vray dome light to apply my skys, not the background option in the global settings

Hi! When I adjust the sun everything is fine but as soon as I put the HDRI everything is turning bright pink! Do you know what can causes this? Thanks!

Your HDRI may be brighter than the one I used. You can lower the intensity of it in the Vray lighting settings. Also double check that your sun intensity is set much lower when using an HDRI. I usually set mine to .03
