9 жыл бұрынHet kost deze reiger aardig wat moeite om zijn vers gevangen paling naar binnen te werken. Uiteindelijk lukt het wel en spoelt hij de vis weg met een slok water. Jacques Westerveen maakte deze video op de Hoornse dijk in Groningen.

Its actually a grey heron, not a stork though I can imagine a stork could easily swallow an eel too

That's quite a big meal for this theropod dinosaur. The N. American equivalent to this amphibian is the Siren. The Greater Siren gets this big, but I've never seen a bird take one - I'll have to see if anyone has posted a video of that.

I've heard tales of herons eating eels alive and having the eel exit their bodies by the back door and still alive. I'd love to see that.

It's a European amphibian - like our North American siren. It's not an eel. Notice the front legs? In these snake-shaped amphibians, the hind legs are vestigal and very small.

It is a black Eel, When small/young they are referred to as Glass Eals. They are migratory Eals and travel from the Sargasso Sea (Northern West Atlantic) back to the canals in The Netherlands and other countries. Another name is North American Eal. I fished for these all my growing up years in Holland. We would catch them on worm hooked bamboo poles and then once home Fresh them by placing them in a bathtub in garage with fresh streaming fosset water for 3-5 days. This cleans out the mud taste and then we would clean them and eat them. The one being eaten here is a very large mature one. We eat them fried, smoked, etc. They are very good to eat.

de reiger vloog weg na de maaltijd en streek neer aan een andere oever om een nieuwe prooi te vangen; dat kon niet allemaal op deze film.

@@FilmFabriekGroningen2022 Dank u voor deze antwoord! Hoe groot is de maag van een reiger?? (Er zijn ook een aantal youtube videos waar we kunnen zien dat blauwe reigers brood gebruiken om te vissen, deze vogels zijn smart)

we hebben naar informatie over de maag grootte van de blauwe reiger gezocht; er zijn geen concrete resultaten; maar afgaande op de video's en foto's van gulzig schrokkende reigers lijkt er veel ruimte in de ingewanden van dit dier te zijn.

This is unbelievable python bird not heron bird my goodness that ell head was already in the bird anus while bird was swallowing the tail of ell. This bird needs little water to finish that was fantastic

De titel is niet door de filmmaker bedacht. De oorspronkelijke titel van de bij Vroege Vogels ingeleverde video luidde: Eten en gegeten worden.
