Could u explain why some people like me have almost a 5 octave vocal range and others only have 1.5. How does that work

Right you are! I always think of Maria Callas, after hearing a recording, saying she did not like her voice. But she accepted it and did ok for herself. I always thought the reason why you speak of technique over individual timbre was because the first we can improve and the latter is pretty much what we got. And the famous singers who had trouble getting careers going gives reason to believe technique and learning 'how' is as important as the basic sound produced. IMHO.

And this is why we love Victoria!! Yes! This makes a huge difference. In the flute (my main instrument), other things like the shape of your teeth, mouth fomation, tongue, etc make a huge difference in how you play and how you sound as well! As a result, finding the right flute that works for You, you and ONLY you is a lifelong endeavor! Just lik in the voice; singing, and getting used to all he muscle groups coordinating and such takes time and it's an individual process! ❤

Thank you Vic! I must admit I try not to, but sometimes I try to sound like people I admire because, as you said, my voice is unique and since it does not sound like anything I know of, I am afraid of it "being ugly". You help me change that perspective easily though!

I don't compare ever I know I sound. ..fabulous anyways I have some kinda mental thing called echolellia I tend to sing exactly as I hear I mimic others voices and tones I do it even when I'm not singing so I tend to not hear my true voice
