Low maintenance, great power for hills and larger riders and a very comfortable ride. This is the VSETT 8+. It's my first time trying drum brakes and solid rubber tires on a mid range scooter. The VSETT 8+ ticks pretty well most of the boxes but is it perfect?

The solid tires are certainly low maintenance, but I prefer pneumatic tires for ride comfort and traction/grip. For my air-tubed tires, I use anti-puncture tape on the inside of the tire (between the tube and the tire)...a cheap and effective solution. I also use SLIME sealant for inside the air tube. This has been very effective at me avoiding flats and the extreme headache of changing tires and/or tubes on a non-split rim. These preventative tips will never reach the level of solid tire when it comes to FLAT avoidance...but it is a significant improvement.

Yeah they can be big $$$. It’s mainly the huge batteries plus some of the components on the higher end models cost more but are much more robust which is what you want on something that can go as fast as some of them.

Use p11 setting and turn up the electronic regenerative braking to 5 and it should help with braking but if you use it then it could damage ur controller in the long run so be aware

I like it but it has a lot of problems, first of all, all of the screws become super loose and you have to use tools to tighten them literally every week, also the screws strip extremely easily, a lot of people in the reviews say the same thing, I took all of the screws off and cleaned all of the oil off and added Loctite Blue Thread Locker to them. I also had one screw head break off a screw that is now stuck, and I have another screw that is partially stripped but not that much, the chargers for them are very cheap, the charger has this metal part that doesn't really need to be there but it broke off. I bought another charger so I have 2 and can charge it faster, The other charger for some reason got messed up and one of the metal prongs on the inside became bent in and would not fit, I got it to fit now and it fits better but still. My scooter also has this problem that occurs randomly where it just decided to go by itself as if I'm pulling the trigger even though I'm not and when this problem occurs, it is really dangerous and scary because you could fall off and crash and also when it starts, it lasts for days and then goes away by it's self. Also When you tigheten the screws, you need 2 allen wrenches because some of the screws are on a piece that rotates so you need one to hold one side. Make sure that when you tighten the screws, you don't just tighten them as much as possible, you have to loosen them first and then re-tighten them but do NOT tighten them as much as possible, just tighten them a lot. And make sure to fully clean all of the oil off the screws using paper towels and dry them off and then put blue loctite thread locker on them. Also I had thsi problem where the right break when pulled would get stuck in. I would have to stop, get off, and grab the break cable and move it around and the breaks would snap back out. Also sometimes the break cable in the front slips out of the small area it is held into because the cable goes in a sharp turn right out of the wheel so I had to get trickey, I took the break cable off and put it on the outside of the piec that holds the front wheel on and used a ziptie to keep it close but still allowing the bars to turn fully left and right and now the right break does not get stuck, if the breaks get stuck, do what I just said but also fully clean every puece of the the breaks at the bottom where the break cable connects to the wheel, then dry it off and then when it is completely dry, fully spray it with WD40, make sure that under/behind that small black piece on the side of the wheel that moves a little bit when you pull the breaks is fully clean and isn't jammed with dirt. Some of the screws do not need to be tightened like the small ones on the bottom sode of the deck and the ones tgat are sideways on the black part that is above the front wheel where the green part of the bars ends at the bottom. The most important screws to make sure are tightened are the 3 screws that are close by each other on the side right by the lever you pull to fold the scooter down. There are 3 on each side so technically 6 screws. Also the big black rubber hexagon screw near the front wheel does not need to be tightened. Making sure the screws are tightened all of the time is a HUGE turnoff for this scooter. You need to buy the exact tools. I would recommend just buying the same ones I have which are the 2 pack of the red and green Husky brand Allen Wrench multi tools that fold open. And then buy 2 of those metal adjustable wrenches that have 1 Handle because you will need 2, one to hold the screws on one side and one to tighten them. You will need them for the 4 screws that hold that suspension parts on that fold when you jump. You can also hit them up with WD40. Also you'll need those for the screws that hold the front and back wheels on. There are so many screws that you have to make sure are tightened and if you accidently use the wrong soze allen wrench or tighten a screw to fast or to much, you will strip the screw and damage it for ever. For this reason I do not recommend the Vsett 8+. Just make sure if you buy an electric scooter, make sure you do not have to tighten the screws every single month or few months because it is super annoying. I didn't know this when I bought it and the back reflector just fell off and is gone for ever because it became loose the day I got it. About 3 months after getting my scooter, it started to became super weak and it just sounded extremely loose and when I got home, all of the screws were sooooo loose that I could turn them with my hand. I guarantee so many people will not know this and just ride it for about a year until it gets sooooo loose and inevitably falls apart and breaks while riding it full speed causing them to get injured and need to go to the hospital. I also have this problem where the front wheel started squeaking super loud, like just soooo loud that it was a little bot embarrassing to ride outside because people would turn and stare at me but luckily it went away by it's self. I emailed them and asked if they could send me a replacement front wheel and they did not reply. Also if the break cable slips out of place in the front wheel, fix it right away by pulling the break cable back into place because this happened to me while riding in the winter and it was to cold to stop and fix it so i held the break open with mu hand until I got home. Then apparently after riding it, the bolt that you spin to loosen and tighten the breaks just fell off and was gone for ever, then I contacted vsett and was told they could not send me a new one and to visit a hardware store. I went to lowes and asked if they had one, i took the back one off and brought in and was told they did not have one. Then I bought a zero replacement break cable that came with what looked like the same bolt. Then luckily vsett randomly called me and asked if that was for my scooter that they saw I recently bought and I explained that I was hoping the screw would fit and told then what happened. They told me they will send me a mew piece, also before that, i ordered the break cable but for some reason they sent me a piece of a wheel for some reason by mistake I believe and they told me to send it back and eventually i got the right piece. Also there are a few other problems i had but this comment is to long so I'll just not add them. Also people in My family have the jetson bolt, jetson quest, gotrax apex. 2 electric skatebaords, and a custom electric bike and none of these have the same problems with the screws needing to be tightened all of the time or any of the other problems so I think this is just a problem with vsett scooters or maybe the loctite will solve the problem because I recently put it on for the first time, why don't they just come pre loctited? Also the included multi-tool is complete garbage and will bend and break asap

@@8_x_9. I'm not a beginner, I've had so many electric things and have been riding them for over 2 years. The reason why people don't bring up these problems on reviews is because people who buy scooters to review and then return them only ride the scooter for a week or a few days and then review it. I've had mine for over a year and ride it to work and back every day. And most of the problems this scooter has has nothing to do with being a beginner, my scooter has screws on the inside that snapped in half by them selves and the throttle glitching and causing the scooter to go by itself has nothing to do with a beginner. I also take apart and repair PC's and game consoles. I know how to unscrew screws the proper way yet the Vsett screws strip by themselves super easily. Vsett is just an over priced, low quality brand with bad customer service

ON some higher ned larger scooters you can remove the battery but on the most part, the batteries are fixed. There are some very very light scooters out there but youre not going to get the same level of performance and comfort from the smaller ones.

I was looking at the Segway ninebot g30 but decided I want something with suspension and more speed. I believe the Segway is rated IP54 weather resistant, this vsett 8+ has the same rating but someone told me it’s no where close to the Segway in weather protection. Is this true? This looks perfect but being in a rainy city it’s important to me.
@EverydayReviews2022

I’m not sure I can answer that as I’m not that familiar with the Segway. I do know that the Segway is no where near as powerful as this so if you’re a larger rider or have hills to conquer, this will be much better than the Segway. Personally I wouldn’t consider anything that goes less than 45km/h.

You have to loosen and retighten all of the screws with 2 allen wrench multi tools. Just buy the 2 pack of husky brand multi tools that cokes with the red one and green one. Take the screws off and completely dry them off with paper towels and get all of the oil off and off of the inside of where each screw goes. Then apply Loctite Blue Thread Locker to each screw. Tighten each screw and then Wait 24 hours for the thread locker to harden and that will prevent the screws from loosening by them selves. There are 3 screws on each side right by the handle that you pull to fold it closed and they become super loose over time. Loosen them and then tighten them again and apply thread locker. Those 3 or 6 screws hood together the locking and folding mechanisim

Hello, I recently bought this Vsett9+ scooter. I saw that at position P03: Voltage level: 24V, 36V, 48V, 52V, 60V. What do these voltages mean? If I set 24V or 60V, is there any change in the way the scooter is used? Does it change the degree of battery wear? Do they increase their performance at the maximum range to approach the range indicated by the manufacturer? And there is one more thing, at position 10, 13, 14, 19, it says Reserve. What can this be used for? Can someone enlighten me? Thank you in advance. Also, I don't know much information about this scooter. I don't know English very well, for help I also use google translate, so if someone who already has this scooter model and wants to help me with some improvements or suggestions regarding better safety when using the scooter, please let me know in written, attached to this message, thank you. It is a generic controller used on many models/brands. Make sure the voltage is set to the factory spec (e.g.: the battery's rating). Be careful not to mess with the voltage level.

I enjoy the vsett8. It handles well. Problems are constant flat tires. Drum brakes are shit and a hazard to your life. If you can get hydraulic brakes dont even hesitate. Anything less is a death trap. I have to brake way ahead of time, if a car cuts you off its better to jump off then try to brake. I put both solid tires on and I got incredibly painful nerve damage and couldnt use one of my arms for 2 weeks just due to the damn vibrations. I do love riding but go air tires and hydraulic brakes. Crashing due to the ignorance of others is no fun.

I have the Vsett 8+ and I ride it in heavy rain all of the time. I even ride threw a deep puddle that basically submerged the entire deck under water for 20 seconds 3 times one day and it is perfectly fine. Just make sure you dry off the metal parts like the screws and the metal pieces that hold the wheel on and any other raw metal pieces, dry them off when you get home with paper towels because now mine has rust all over it and inside all of the screws and around the metal pieces that hold the wheels on.
