Jackie, I love that that you zoom in the camera and use natural lighting. I'm sure that lots of your subscribers are young girls and it's so important for them to see what real, unfiltered skin looks like. There are very few beauty youtubers who will let their subscribers see their natural skin texture and blemishes, and I can't think of any of the big ones who don't zoom out and filter so it *seems* like their skin is absolutely smooth and flawless. Everyone out there has skin texture and is beautiful! 😘

Aw, Claire. This means a lot! I've always struggled with my skin and my new lighting is super revealing and picks up pore texture more than in person weirdly, so I am trying to get it as true as possible but knowing that people appreciate the realness and don't expect me to be a barbie-doll in order to film is really relieving. It DOES suck to only see airbrushed faces and I have experimented with softening footage through the years and it lead me to having a phase where I'd get insecure meeting people in person thinking I don't measure up to my own self online! Simple step of just showing how I actually am and not apologizing has lifted that pressure quite a bit. love you!

Can I just say how much I appreciate you not using a softening effect on your face when zoomed in? Your skin is naturally very beautiful (so you don't really need it) but I love getting to see that you have PORES and NATURAL looking skin like everyone else! Beautiful look, btw. Definitely gonna try this one.

Idk if its your new setup or that I can afford to watch videos on 1080p now but its refreshing to see a makeup vid where you can still see their pores. Most beauty channels try not to show it so you cant really the real effect makeup has on the skin, I appreciate this very very much Jackie!

I watched on 1080 and 480 and it’s definitely her set up. Much more realistic then the way most gurus do it. It make them look like dolls and sets unrealistic expectations for products.

@@ellie.elizabeth right. Whenever I try makeup tutorials, it always annoys me how cakey everything looks or the texture isnt the same. Its unfair how they smooth that out. I get for pictures but for tutorials, kinda deceiving

Been waiting for this video! Also super duper appreciate how Jackie always fills out the description and doesn’t make it seem copy and pasted and the same every time. Can’t wait to see the dupes!! Update: finally was able to watch the tutorial! Loveee your videos. Would love to see a Romee Strijd recreation even though her makeup looks for everyday are usually pretty minimal. Miranda Kerr the year she wore the fantasy bra that was like an underwater theme is my favorite, so Miranda and Romee are my favorite Angels :)

would you consider doing a video just on how you contour your nose? i find it the most subtle and flattering nose contours on youtube and you do it in many videos but its often done quite quickly so its tricky to actually learn from them! id love to see a full on video just focusing on that so viewers could walk away with some implementable tips

can we have a video on like whats in your closet/ your personal style? im 21 and i feel like so many younger teens are now wearing like "older" clothes.. (e.g. crop tops, bodysuits, denim skirts) and im having trouble finding a style that works with my age and doesnt make me look 16!!
