We have a shorter growing type here on hillsides in summer. Didn't sow it. It does well though. Self seeds. Withstood continuous grazing well. Does very good with proper rest.

Dont Let Steriotypical Grazing Advice Impact your Profitability. Think holistically. Some of the info in this presentation will be useable some of the time depending on your context.

If it takes 45 minutes to move 30 cows, it probably takes more than 45 minutes to move 200 cows. I would think that 200 cows would require a lot longer length of temporary fence.

Role the hay out and only use it if you need to. Never mow let the livestock do it . Cows then sheep then chickens

This video is typical university info that doesn’t look at the system - only half of the equation. As an example, the entire point of moving more often is to grow more grass and (dramatically) increase your stocking rate so you have more calves to sell. Nobody is out there moving cows every day to still have the same number of cows. I am sure this video has value for folks that move animals infrequently.

Wow. You missed the whole point. He said everyday moves pay off and more so with bigger herds. Not as much payoff with small herds

They didn't, considering how many of their ruins are located in what is now desert wasteland.

Pastoral people moved with their animal herds, they followed the grass. They came into conflict with farmers and cities. I’m sure it was a basket of fun back then
