its on the front of the aire intake ... this guy have straight pipe so more air going out cant be fix by just adjusting idle screw lol you want to go on clip up on the needle and from there adjust then air screw and idle for the les lag on the throttle. as for the clutch you cant just adjust it but taking the lose off but by knowing if its too low on high on the handle then adjust it so its not too low or high on the handle after you taken the lose off lol .. good luck

That’s exactly where the idle should be. Sounds fine.

I had a lot of play in my clutch and had adjusted it the best I could from the lever. I had no idea there was an inline adjustment. Thank you! Now I have to figure out the choke/idle issue. My choke retracts on its own unless I hold it out while warming up.

Hey there, glad to hear I could help. Unfortunately the choke lever and cable is actually designed this way and its not an actual issue with your cable, this is how it is on all Vulcan's, and many other production motorcycles. Its spring loaded so it forces you to hold out the choke when you need to use it. It's done so people don't forget to turn the choke back to closed. If you bike has issues with idle that would be an entirely different issue.

Mine does this, and needs the choke out for quite a while so use a clothes peg. However have recently been told the cause could be its running lean so once winter passes I'll try riching the mixture.

There is a lock nut you spin to hold the choke on/off... at least on the 2003's...

The lever that goes in the clutch basket, should it spring back and forth when no cable is attached? Mine doesnt.. when cable is on it I can get a quarter inch pull at lever but doesn't spring back.

can you make a video showing how to adjust the rear brake pedal please? cant find how anywhere
@MetricMotorcycleMadness6 жыл бұрын
I would but its fairly simple to explain. To adjust the tension on the rear brakes which will in turn adjust the rear brake pedal: Go to the the right side of the rear tire where the brake cable attaches the the brake shoe lever. The end of the brake cable is threaded and attaches to the lever via a nutt which has a divet in it to hold its place on the threads. If you turn the nutt to the right it will tighten your rear brakes, turn it to the left it will loosen. Don't overtighten the nutt or the shoes will be rubbing against their stopping surface without hitting the brake pedal and lead to premature wear. Let me know if you need to adjust the brake light switch that is a different issue all together.

It’s not supposed to sound how you want, it’s supposed to sound how it should. It’s not something you should increase if there’s not a problem just wears on your bike quicker and gives you worse gas mileage.

So, you didn't show actually adjusting the idle! Does it require a tool? Does it have a cover? Is it a knurled head screw?
@MetricMotorcycleMadness7 жыл бұрын
Racey Stephenson As I showed in the video in the beginng, It's a knob you turn right below the air filter cover. Very simple, turn one way or the other.
