Compare to shuttle include mass of orbiter cost per kg the SLS block 2 is nearly as cheap $2,000 per kg more while being expandable which insane. Anyone hating starliner cst 100 completely forgot cost of Orion and why cost so expensive. Delay number reasons. Plus Boeing taking on damage of development cost delay and cst 100 developed more new technology, plus new form landing for America, and more physical redundant than crewed dragon v2. Plus crewed dragon v2 using a lot know hardware and experience from cargo dragon 1 unlike Boeing starliner. Boeing working nasa to safe so yes I trust Boeing starliner a lot and good new Boeing mindset isn’t transferred to starliner because of nasa. Plus crewed dragon v2 rocket falcon 9 doesn’t have as much restriction as starliner atlas v rocket make development easier. Vulcan also get a lot hate but I bet profit margin higher and still better than falcon plus all development cost falcon variant it’s cheaper. Anyone comparing falcon heavy to Vulcan is unfair comparison. Better compare Vulcan to delta 4 heavy and falcon 9. Plus performance of falcon 9 and cost isn’t as good as people think from nasa resources. Also development cost and time of Vulcan similar to falcon 9 from paper to block 5 Vulcan. Falcon 9 got a lot help from nasa too same with crew dragon v1. Today rocket development of medium lift market difficult time competing against spacex due unfair start of spacex and spacex success. Also undercut price of spacex definitely unfair making it easier for them to be monopoly in American space market. In some way I think spacex origins how we should developed more rocket and space technology. also China having bunch private company success definitely due funding and development model China government helping doing.
