Excellent video. Thank you. I have been to the Wall many yrs ago. Had a childhood friend and my husband had a cousin killed in Vietnam. It is so gut wrenching to see all of the names. Breaks my heart.

Wow.. amazing thought process in making this perfect memorial and a reminder of what America has lost for the price of freedom. Respect those for their ultimate sacrifice to give us the life we have today. God Bless America!

My uncle, James F Collins, was shot down and killed in Vietnam. He left behind a teenage widow and baby son. Someday, I hope to visit his actual place on the Wall.

We applaud all you who served in Vietnam War. My loving cousin Raymond served in Vietnam War. Sadly he committed suicide when he came home and saw his wife in bed with another guy after he returned home from Vietnam. I was in shock. But Raymond came to me from above and said He see heaven. He is Not in hell. Raymond told me ..."I only need 2 more masses said at Catholic Church and I will be heaven." So I had 2 more masses said...Now Vietnam Vet like you is in heaven forever. I pray you go too. GOD Bless All of You. We love you. ❤🙏🙏🙏

We’ll never forget any of the Vietnam War veterans. They didn’t get the recognition that they truly deserved. Unfortunately, some never made it home alive like our childhood friend. He was such a proud Marine. His death devastated our little small community in Twin Mountain, NH. An extremely small close community that a lot of people probably haven’t even never heard of. We have never forgotten Kenny Jordan.

I am a (drafted) Vietnam vet (all of 1969). I lived in Washington D.C when this memorial concept was presented publicly for the first time. I burst into tears. I thought it was brilliant. I did not agree with the war on any level. And this brilliant concept dud not have some high-faluting b.s. rah rah “thing”. Some dude with a raised arm and rifle, for example. The war was illegitimate, evil, immoral and unethical. And without counting the Vietnamese on both sides, 58,000 dead US soldiers …..not to mention the wounded. The design was highly controversial. I’m an artistic guy. I knew that it was right, profound, eternal, and HONEST! I have been several times. It makes everyone instantly stop talking. People stroll in silence, staring at this brilliant piece of art. Thank you, Maya Linn…..eternally grateful for your art….for your gift.

Remember to read the Wall. Or at least read a few names, even if those names are unknown or meaningless to you. The Wall is there to be read, to be touched, and to let its shiny blackness printed all over, touch your heart. Behind every entry on that wall there is a fallen soldier, or marine, a navy guy, or a flyer, and they are holding their names, so you mention one aloud, or in quiet murmur. Copy a name if you can, at least one of those names, and try to remember at least one name. If a name is one you've kept always in your heart because is your son's, or your husband's, or your brother's, then touch it again, and again during this visit to the Wall, and touch it again during your next visit. It's your burden of love, it's your rightful touch of pain and love. And while you are next to the Wall, you are not alone, your trip is not a lonely one. The Wall is there for all.

My cousin died in Vietnam...Though he didn't know it at that time. It had taken 10 years for the agent orange exposure to eat away at his body, His pancreas had to be removed, it was not long after is foot was amputated from the diabetes that one day after becoming a recluse, he stopped taking his insulin and passed away. His name and thousands of others like him will never be on any wall.😔
