VW ABS Wheel Speed Sensor Fault - T5 Transporter FIXED!!

Күн бұрынThe day of my Mot test and the ABS light comes on fault code 00287, Obviously failed Mot but now lets try and fix this ABS sensor problem.
Diagnostic tool I'm using is a Hex-V2 from Ross-Tech.com.
Software is VCDS. known as VAG-COM. These are for VAG vehicles and are well worth the investment, used by most VAG Tech's.
Other Diagnostic tools are available just make sure they can read live data.

I did my speed sensor a few years ago. I drove it out from the bottom rather than trying to lever it out. Just a point, when you tested the wiring, you didn’t load the circuit. So you still could have had a problem with the wires. You could have had some resistance on the wire which won’t show on an unloaded circuit.

I tried from the top first as some times it works then drove it out from the bottom, as some vehicles don't have easy access to the bottom of the sensor so you have to get it from the top. Re the wiring the voltage was on the low side but I ignored it, 2 days later I'm doing a abs wiring video. 🤣👍

Do you have to clear the fault code or would it clear itself? I've just done my sensor and now have the handbrake/fluid level light flashing and 3 beebs. Didn't have that before changing the sensor. I've known some cars/vans to clear the fault once fixed.
