Hi and welcome to the channel
Its time to undertake some major maintenance work on our vans engine we have a number of jobs to do on our selfbuild vw crafter campervan changing the cambelt is by far the biggest one so we need to strip out the entire front end starting with the radiator, intercooler and condenser this will allow us much greater access to all the areas we need to get to

Great job mate, can't believe how clean your hands were. I helped an apprentice change my alternator on my 2009 vw crafter and it took 2hrs and got covered in oil.

Been thinking of doing the cam belt on my Master - been researching on you tube about safe ways to swop the belt - Fuzz from car SOS had a very good one - look it up - and best of luck - just take your time as you go 👍

I`m into the same territory now with my 2008 crafter , not identical probs but I`ve learned a few things myself here and I thank you for that. Only just found you on here but glad of it....lol cheers .....

Another excellent video - just a shame it's given me bad news - I've just had the air-con man round to diagnose the cause of mine not working. Turned out to be a crack in the condenser and leak around the pressure detect switch (the thing you point to at 28:37, apparently). I thought I may be able to DIY a replacement, but looking at yours and the need to remove the front, drain the rad etc. I'm not sure I want to - I think this is one for a garage 😞The bit at the end where you say it all comes out as one unit - is that the assembly you pull out at 29:49? If so, could you describe a little more how to get everything out without doing as much as you have - i.e. what's the minimum I'd need to do to get the condenser (and intercooler and radiator?) out?

You may know by now the oil filler unclips like the charge point . hahahaha i was shouting at the laptop

I've never done a crafter timing belt yet but with your strip down looks loads of room I've done lots of older passats which remind me of crafter lots of room once stripped out take your time and enjoy

Hi if it sound like a jet taking off the viscose fan has failed and may need replaced or in some cases just freed up with some penetration fluid😀👍

But if you are doing the water pump as well that method won't work 😭

Not sure what what you mean I've changed the water pump and the van is back together and all good 🤔

For my water pump the cam belt has to be removed to get it out - so the Fuzz method won't work- yours must be different - I,m looking forward to the next video👍

@@dmiller6930 you had me panicking for a minute there I thought you knew something I didn't 🤣 mine is the same fan & belt off all covers of then the cambelt to change out the water pump and follower plus the tensioner I've enjoyed the experience should last another 4 years or so
